Standard sofas, sleepers and sectionals have different choices. Find the one that matches.
Couch & furniture removal in TollesonCity collection Indoor furniture and outdoor patio furniture are the first two items on Tolleson's acceptable bulk list, so a sofa or couch leaves on the registered monthly bulk pickup rather than in the container. Furniture is explicitly refused in the green container. No charge. Included in the residential sanitation service that the city bills at 15 dollars a month for one trash and one recycling container, with additional containers at 7 dollars and 50 cents each. The city publishes no separate bulk pickup charge, and registration with Field Operations at 623-936-7141 or through the online request tool is required before the pile goes out.

Mattress & bed removal in TollesonCity collection A mattress is not named on the acceptable or unacceptable bulk lists, and the container rules refuse furniture of every kind, so a bed has to be confirmed with Field Operations before it goes out. The closest published category is indoor furniture. The city publishes no mattress charge and does not list mattresses as an accepted or refused bulk item. Confirm the unit with Tolleson Field Operations at 623-936-7141 before setting it out, and ask whether it counts inside the 3 cubic yard bulk limit.

Appliance pickup in TollesonCity collection Tolleson's bulk list splits appliances in two: a household appliance that does not contain Freon is accepted, while a refrigerator, freezer or air conditioner is refused. The household hazardous waste event is the published route for one refrigerator or freezer per household per year. The city publishes no per-appliance charge for either route. A non-Freon appliance rides the bulk pile that the monthly sanitation service already covers, while a refrigerator, freezer or air conditioner has to be registered for the household hazardous waste pickup or confirmed with Field Operations at 623-936-7141, so confirm which route and what, if anything, the item costs.

The local disposal guide
Tolleson keeps sanitation simple: Right Away Disposal collects trash and recycling every Monday from black and green lidded containers, and the city's Field Operations department runs a monthly bulk trash pickup that residents have to register for. Bulk service is split by zone, with homes north of Van Buren Street served on the last Wednesday of the month and homes south of it on the last Thursday, and everything has to be curbside by 6 a.m. with a total limit of 3 cubic yards. The bulk list is narrow on purpose. Indoor furniture, patio furniture, appliances that do not contain Freon and yard waste are accepted, while chemicals, tires and other automotive parts, batteries, air conditioners, construction material and refrigerators or freezers are not. Those last few items have their own route: the city holds a household hazardous waste pickup event by appointment, and its own instructions for anything else are to call Field Operations at 623-936-7141.

Televisions, computers and other electronics are named neither on Tolleson's acceptable and unacceptable bulk lists nor on the household hazardous waste list, so a screen has to be confirmed with Field Operations. Electronics are also not something the container rules address, which leaves no published automatic route.
Construction material is refused twice over in Tolleson: the bulk list names construction materials including rocks, dirt, cement, block and bricks, and the container rules name construction debris and roof shingles. The city publishes no disposal site of its own for it.
Exercise equipment is not named on the bulk acceptable list, the bulk unacceptable list or the container rules, so a treadmill or weight machine has to be confirmed before it goes out.
Tolleson runs a monthly bulk trash pickup for large items that will not fit in the container, in partnership with Right Away Disposal, and registration with the city is required before anything is collected.
Yard waste is on Tolleson's acceptable bulk list and is also allowed in the container as long as it is bagged and tied, which the city code and the county health department require for green waste.
The handoff matters
The monthly bulk pickup is a registered service, so the sequence runs the other way round from a regular trash day: sign up with Field Operations at 623-936-7141 or through the online request tool first, then set the pile out. Homes north of Van Buren Street are served on the last Wednesday of the month and homes south of it on the last Thursday, with everything at the curb by 6 a.m. and nothing out more than 48 hours early. Crews work a tight route and cannot come back once they pass a street.

Lids stay closed, sidewalks stay clear, and the container comes back onto the property within 24 hours. A container blocked by a vehicle is not serviced.
