Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Electronics and televisions

Special rules apply

Televisions, computers and other electronics are named neither on Tolleson's acceptable and unacceptable bulk lists nor on the household hazardous waste list, so a screen has to be confirmed with Field Operations. Electronics are also not something the container rules address, which leaves no published automatic route.

City cost & eligibility
No published entry covers electronics on any Tolleson route, and no fee is published, so confirm the item, the route and any charge with Field Operations at 623-936-7141 before a set is moved. Do not assume a bulk pickup covers it, because the acceptable list names furniture, patio furniture, non-Freon appliances and yard waste only.
When & how
Call 623-936-7141 during business hours and ask which route applies, then use the zone bulk day or the household hazardous waste pickup as directed. The hazardous waste pages ask residents to preschedule, and a household that does not register is not collected at all.
Get it ready
Wipe stored data from a computer or drive before it leaves the house, keep screens whole, and keep the item out of the green container. If the city routes it to the hazardous waste pickup, box it neatly at the top of the driveway by 7 a.m. on the collection day and keep it off the sidewalk.

Bulk day starts with a registration, not a pile

The monthly bulk pickup is a registered service, so the sequence runs the other way round from a regular trash day: sign up with Field Operations at 623-936-7141 or through the online request tool first, then set the pile out. Homes north of Van Buren Street are served on the last Wednesday of the month and homes south of it on the last Thursday, with everything at the curb by 6 a.m. and nothing out more than 48 hours early. Crews work a tight route and cannot come back once they pass a street.

City of Tolleson Field Operations with Right Away Disposal

Register for the household hazardous waste pickup

A Tolleson household with motor oil, paint, chemicals, a refrigerator or freezer, an appliance with no Freon, or tires that cannot go on the bulk pile.

Cost & conditions
The city publishes no fee for the household hazardous waste pickup and requires an appointment, so confirm any charge when registering. Call 623-936-7141 and select the bulk trash option to book the pickup.
Arrange it
Call 623-936-7141 and register in advance, then put the material at the top of the driveway by 7 a.m. on the collection day, boxed neatly and closest to the sidewalk.

Tolleson residents only, with the city warning that ZIP code 85353 is shared with neighboring cities so the water bill is the way to check. There is a 20 gallon combined limit on liquids, a limit of four tires removed from the rim, and one refrigerator or freezer per household per year. Regular refuse and bulk trash, car batteries, fire extinguishers, gas cylinders, bio-medical waste, ammunition, explosives and radioactive material are refused.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Tolleson runs no transfer station, landfill or recycling drop-off of its own, but Field Operations does list a drive-up trash service and dumping of up to six yards of garbage at the Fields Operation Center, 9601 W. Jefferson St, open for office business Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The city publishes no charge and no accepted item list for that service, so confirm the load, the hours and what it costs with Field Operations at 623-936-7141 before a vehicle is loaded. The same line takes the call for tires, refrigerators or freezers, or any item that is not on the bulk list, and it registers both the monthly bulk pickup and the household hazardous waste event. That hazardous waste service is a curbside appointment rather than a site: residents register in advance, put the material at the top of the driveway by 7 a.m. on the collection day, boxed neatly and close to the sidewalk, and the household has to be inside the city limits because ZIP code 85353 is shared with neighboring cities. Liquids are capped at 20 gallons combined, tires at four removed from the rim, and refrigerators or freezers at one per household per year, while car batteries, fire extinguishers, gas cylinders, bio-medical waste, ammunition, explosives and radioactive material are refused. For renovation material the city offers no route at all, and a private container company is the practical answer, priced by the company that supplies it. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Tolleson.

How much does TV removal cost in Tolleson?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Tolleson?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Where do televisions and computers go in Tolleson?

Tolleson names neither televisions nor computers on the acceptable or unacceptable bulk lists, and the household hazardous waste list does not mention them either, so there is no published automatic route. Call Field Operations at 623-936-7141 before a set is moved and ask whether the item belongs on the registered bulk pile or on a hazardous waste pickup.Official guidance

Who collects trash and bulky items in Tolleson?

Right Away Disposal provides the residential sanitation service for the City of Tolleson, including refuse, recycling and the monthly bulk pickup, and the city's Field Operations department runs the registration and the household hazardous waste pickup from 623-936-7141.
