Finish clearing the space
The last few things still deserve a pickup.
You have decided what is going. Now give those bags and boxes a pickup day, with a price you can see before anyone arrives.
The move is nearly done.
Book the unwanted bags and boxes left after packing. Choose an available pickup day before you hand back the keys, and arrange to have them outside.
The clear-out can be finished.
You do not need a whole house of junk. Select the bags, boxes and larger items you actually have. Your combined price is shown online.
You want to know it is handled.
When the next collection does not fit your plans, choose a Dropcurb pickup day. Updates keep you informed, and completion photos show when the booked items are gone.
A few simple choices turn a mixed pile into a clear booking. No need to estimate how much of a truck it might fill.
Filled bags and boxes
Count each trash bag or filled household box. Books and media go by the box. Clothes, bedding and shoes go by the filled bag. Toys packed together have a Box of toys choice. Ask us about unusually heavy or oversized bags and boxes first.
Empty cardboard and containers
Empty cardboard is a different choice: choose single empty boxes or tied bundles of 10 flattened boxes. Compacted bales have their own weight-based choices and require loading-dock access. A Storage bin choice covers the empty bin itself; ask us to confirm the contents if they are going too.
Furniture and other larger items
Add the actual larger item alongside your bags and boxes, such as a sofa, chair or mattress. It has its own price and preparation. Keep construction materials and items needing special handling out of ordinary household bags.

The annual cleanup names furniture, appliances, electronics, tyres and yard material but not mattresses, so the city has to confirm the bed before it goes to the kerb.
City cost & eligibility
The city publishes no mattress fee in the cleanup rules. Call Public Works at 928-722-7322 before the cleanup week.
When & how
Ask Public Works before your area's cleanup week, then put the mattress at the kerb with the trash and recycling bins where it is accepted.
Get it ready
Keep the mattress in one orderly pile that does not block sidewalks, streets, rights of way, alleys, hydrants or water meters, and do not put it out more than a week before the scheduled week.
Furniture is named in the annual cleanup, which is a once-a-year curbside collection for ordinary household bulk items in the resident's area.
City cost & eligibility
The city publishes no separate cleanup fee for furniture. Call Public Works at 928-722-7322 with any question about your area's week.
When & how
The city divides itself into twelve areas from October, and each area has three days except area 12. Items must be out by the first day of your designated schedule and are collected once only.
Get it ready
Stack the furniture in one orderly pile where the bins are normally serviced and keep it clear of sidewalks, streets, rights of way, alleys, hydrants and water meters.
Refrigerators, stoves and washing machines are named among the ordinary household bulk items the annual cleanup collects.
City cost & eligibility
The city publishes no appliance fee for the cleanup. Call Public Works at 928-722-7322 before the designated week.
When & how
Put the appliance out for your area's cleanup week, by 6 a.m. on the first day of the designated schedule.
Get it ready
Empty and drain the unit, keep it in an orderly pile that two people can lift, and keep construction material and bagged or loose yard waste out of the same pile.
Electronics are named in the annual cleanup, and the regional household hazardous waste event accepts household electronic waste including televisions at no charge.
City cost & eligibility
No charge. The regional household hazardous waste events are described as free and open to all City of Yuma and Yuma County residents, which includes a Somerton address. Tires brought there are limited to five, off the wheel and without rims.
When & how
Use a regional event - the 2026 dates are Saturday January 10, Saturday April 11 and November 14, all 8 a.m. to noon at 1473 S 2nd Avenue - or put the item out for your area's annual cleanup week.
Get it ready
Unload at the designated tables and leave the containers behind, because bins and containers are not returned. Refused items include business or commercial waste, explosives, ammunition, pressurised gas, lead-acid car or boat batteries, radioactive waste, prescription drugs and sharps.
Construction materials will not be picked up under the annual cleanup, and material mixed into a pile risks refusal of the whole load.
City cost & eligibility
The city does not collect construction material through the cleanup. A private facility or hauler sets its own acceptance and price.
When & how
Arrange the private route before the project starts, and describe each material and whether a contractor generated it.
Get it ready
Keep construction material out of the cleanup pile entirely, because any material mixed with bulk clippings or branches will be refused and the rest of the pile can be left at the kerb.
Exercise equipment is not named in the cleanup list or in the regional event's accepted list, so Public Works has to confirm the machine.
City cost & eligibility
No published rate covers an exercise machine. Confirm the item with Public Works at 928-722-7322 before the cleanup week.
When & how
Call Public Works with the machine type and weight, then set it out for the cleanup week only if it is accepted.
Get it ready
Fold or tie down the deck and handles, remove any console or battery pack so the electronics can be handled separately, and keep the pile clear of hydrants, meters and alleys.
Somerton's bulky route is the annual cleanup: twelve areas, three-day windows from October, one pickup per address.
City cost & eligibility
The city publishes no fee for the annual cleanup in its rules. Confirm your area's week and any charge with Public Works at 928-722-7322.
When & how
Items must be available by 6 a.m. on the first day of your designated October or November week and are collected once only. Items placed out more than a week early may be referred to Code Enforcement.
Get it ready
Place the pile where the trash and recycling bins are normally serviced and keep it orderly without blocking sidewalks, streets, rights of way, alleys, hydrants or water meters. Bag lawn and clippings, tie branches into piles no longer than four feet that two people can lift, and keep construction material and mixed loads out.

City of Somerton Sanitation Division and the regional household hazardous waste programme
Use the city Annual Clean Up
Somerton residences with ordinary household bulk items such as refrigerators, stoves, washing machines, furniture, electronics, rimless tires, bagged lawn and tied branches.
Cost & conditions
The city publishes no fee for the annual cleanup in its rules. Confirm your area's week and any charge with Public Works at 928-722-7322.
Arrange it
The city divides itself into twelve areas from October and each area gets three days, except area 12. Put the items out by 6 a.m. on the first day of your designated week.
Residential only, one pickup per address, and not provided to residents of the Orange Grove Mobile Manor or Rancho Mesa Verde subdivisions. Construction material is refused, and any material mixed with bulk clippings or branches is refused as well.
Somerton handles most bulky material with its own once-a-year cleanup rather than a permanent drop-off, so the timetable matters more than the trip: twelve areas open from October, three days each, items out by 6 a.m. on the first day and collected once. The cleanup takes refrigerators, stoves, washing machines, furniture, electronics, rimless tires, bagged lawn and tied branches, and it refuses construction material and anything mixed into a clippings pile. Electronics, motor oil, paint, cleaners, antifreeze, solvents, batteries, pesticides and up to five rimless tires also go to the regional household hazardous waste event that the City of Somerton co-sponsors, which is free to Yuma County residents and runs three mornings a year at 1473 S 2nd Avenue. Outside the city, Yuma County's Waste Management Division runs the transfer stations and the waste tire facility, and the county waste line is 928-341-2500.
