Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

  1. Arrange any unmounting first.

Dropcurb does not remove TVs from walls or do indoor carrying. Arrange the help you need before pickup day, including the trip down interior stairs or through an elevator.

  2. Choose a permitted outdoor spot.

Use a stable, accessible location with a clear path for loading. Keep the TV separate from anything staying. Check building rules before placing it in a shared pickup area.

  3. Show us the TV that is going.

Add a location photo and access notes after booking. Follow the readiness instructions in your confirmation. For exposed broken glass or unusual damage, send a photo and check with us before booking.

Televisions and household electronics

Accepted with preparation

Electronics are named in the annual cleanup, and the regional household hazardous waste event accepts household electronic waste including televisions at no charge.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. The regional household hazardous waste events are described as free and open to all City of Yuma and Yuma County residents, which includes a Somerton address. Tires brought there are limited to five, off the wheel and without rims.
When & how
Use a regional event - the 2026 dates are Saturday January 10, Saturday April 11 and November 14, all 8 a.m. to noon at 1473 S 2nd Avenue - or put the item out for your area's annual cleanup week.
Get it ready
Unload at the designated tables and leave the containers behind, because bins and containers are not returned. Refused items include business or commercial waste, explosives, ammunition, pressurised gas, lead-acid car or boat batteries, radioactive waste, prescription drugs and sharps.

The handoff matters

Right item.
Right place.

Out by 6 a.m. on the first day of your area week

Eligible items must be available by 6 a.m. on the first day of your designated October or November week, and the city collects them one time only. Items placed out more than a week early create a hazard and may be referred to Code Enforcement.

Arrange it
The city divides itself into twelve areas from October and each area gets three days, except area 12. Put the items out by 6 a.m. on the first day of your designated week.

Residential only, one pickup per address, and not provided to residents of the Orange Grove Mobile Manor or Rancho Mesa Verde subdivisions. Construction material is refused, and any material mixed with bulk clippings or branches is refused as well.

City of Somerton Sanitation Division and the regional household hazardous waste programme

Use the regional household hazardous waste event

A Somerton household with electronics, motor oil, paint, cleaners, antifreeze, solvents, batteries, pesticides or up to five rimless tires.

Cost & conditions
No charge. The programme is described as free and open to all City of Yuma and Yuma County residents, which includes a Somerton address, and it is funded through the environmental fee and sponsored in part by the City of Somerton.
Arrange it
Bring the material to 1473 S 2nd Avenue on one of the published event dates. The 2026 dates are Saturday January 10, Saturday April 11 and November 14, all 8 a.m. to noon.

Three events a year, with a five tire limit off the wheel and without rims. Business or commercial waste, explosives, ammunition, pressurised gas, lead-acid car or boat batteries, radioactive waste, prescription drugs and sharps are refused.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Somerton handles most bulky material with its own once-a-year cleanup rather than a permanent drop-off, so the timetable matters more than the trip: twelve areas open from October, three days each, items out by 6 a.m. on the first day and collected once. The cleanup takes refrigerators, stoves, washing machines, furniture, electronics, rimless tires, bagged lawn and tied branches, and it refuses construction material and anything mixed into a clippings pile. Electronics, motor oil, paint, cleaners, antifreeze, solvents, batteries, pesticides and up to five rimless tires also go to the regional household hazardous waste event that the City of Somerton co-sponsors, which is free to Yuma County residents and runs three mornings a year at 1473 S 2nd Avenue. Outside the city, Yuma County's Waste Management Division runs the transfer stations and the waste tire facility, and the county waste line is 928-341-2500. Open to City of Yuma and Yuma County residents, so a Somerton address qualifies. Residents unload on designated tables and containers are not returned. Business or commercial waste, explosives, ammunition, pressurised gas, lead-acid car or boat batteries, radioactive waste, prescription drugs and sharps are refused.

Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Somerton.

How much does TV removal cost in Somerton?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Somerton?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Where do Somerton televisions and computers go?

The regional household hazardous waste event accepts household electronic waste including home computer components, television sets, VCRs, cell phones, home phones and small appliances, at no charge to Yuma County residents, and electronics are also named in the city's annual cleanup list.Official guidance

Who handles disposal outside the Somerton cleanup?

Yuma County's Public Works Waste Management Division runs the county transfer stations and the waste tire facility, and its superintendent can be reached at 928-341-2500. The city's own sanitation division handles the weekly collection and the curbside recycling programme inside Somerton.Official guidance
