Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Televisions, computers and electronics

Accepted with preparation

Televisions are named on the hauler's acceptable bulk list, and Maricopa County transfer stations take a much wider electronics list covering computers, laptops, monitors, printers, scanners, microwaves, stereos, telephones and similar equipment.

City cost & eligibility
From $21 per CRT at a Maricopa County transfer station, with the county also listing computers, laptops, monitors, printers, scanners, microwaves, stereos, telephones and other electronic equipment as accepted recyclable electronics, and with the hauler quoting a television separately as part of a bulk collection. Maricopa County residents, with debit or credit card payment only and no cash accepted at the transfer stations.
When & how
Book a bulk pickup for a television, or take the devices to a Maricopa County transfer station during its open hours.
Get it ready
Separate electronics from the rest of the load so they can be unloaded in the recycling area, keep screens whole, and clear personal data before handover. Nothing electronic belongs in the household container.

The handoff matters

Right item.
Right place.

Out by 5:30 a.m., under 50 pounds, and clear of the container

Sun City West households use either an underground container or a curbside barrel, depending on the address. Items must be out no later than 5:30 a.m. on the service day, the load should stay under 50 pounds, and the area around the container has to be clear of plants and parked vehicles. Dirt, rock, concrete, construction debris and sod, flammable liquids, hot ashes and hazardous material never go in the container.

How a bulk pile has to be prepared

Put the pile at the front of the property near the sidewalk or the curb, never in an alleyway, stacked neatly and parallel to the street. Keep it below four feet high, keep everything shorter than four feet except bulky pieces such as a couch, and leave at least five feet from water meters, cable boxes, fire hydrants, block walls, fencing, sprinklers and landscaping, with no vehicle within ten feet. Bag and tie yard clippings, cut limbs into four-foot segments under eight inches across, and sweep up what the crew leaves behind.

What to expect at a Maricopa County transfer station

County transfer stations are open to all Maricopa County residents and ask for identification only at the recycling centers, with payment by debit or credit card and no cash accepted. The load is measured on the cargo area of one vehicle or trailer, so a separated load is easier to unload and easier to price. Arrive early enough to finish unloading before closing, and separate recyclables and electronics so they can go into the designated areas.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

A Sun City West household has two self-haul routes and one rule to remember before either. Parks & Sons runs the curbside side: the container takes household material under 50 pounds, out by 5:30 a.m., and a scheduled bulk collection takes furniture, mattresses and bed frames, exercise machines, appliances without freon and televisions at a quoted price. Everything the hauler refuses is refused for a reason, and most of it can go to a Maricopa County transfer station instead: household trash by the vehicle load, bagged or bundled green waste, scrap metal, furniture, mattresses, appliances, CRTs and a wide electronics list, up to five passenger or truck tires off the rim, and five gallons of used oil or antifreeze, all paid by debit or credit card because no cash is taken at the gate. Two materials need care: a refrigerator, freezer or air conditioner has to be evacuated, have its compressor removed and be tagged to EPA rules with documentation before the county will take it, and batteries plus household hazardous waste are refused outright, so those go to the year-round business options the hauler lists, such as Interstate Batteries for batteries and auto parts stores for motor oil. worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Sun City West.

How much does TV removal cost in Sun City West?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Sun City West?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.
