Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

  1. Arrange any unmounting first.

Dropcurb does not remove TVs from walls or do indoor carrying. Arrange the help you need before pickup day, including the trip down interior stairs or through an elevator.

  2. Choose a permitted outdoor spot.

Use a stable, accessible location with a clear path for loading. Keep the TV separate from anything staying. Check building rules before placing it in a shared pickup area.

  3. Show us the TV that is going.

Add a location photo and access notes after booking. Follow the readiness instructions in your confirmation. For exposed broken glass or unusual damage, send a photo and check with us before booking.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Self haul in Surprise mostly means the city programs rather than a public tip, because the city does not publish a transfer station or landfill address for residents on these pages. What it does publish is a free bulk trash route for household items and yard debris up to ten cubic yards per pickup and twenty cubic yards a year, an appliance pickup by appointment for stoves, washers, dryers, refrigerators, trash compactors, air conditioners and empty water heaters at a per pickup charge on the utility bill, and a driveway household hazardous waste pickup from February through November that takes fuels, paint, solvents, cleaners, batteries, bulbs, pool chemicals and electronics in labeled boxes. The city also states that a single residential load of up to two thousand pounds can be disposed of at no cost, and the location for that load has to be confirmed with the Solid Waste Department. Material the city refuses - dirt, rocks, concrete, blocks, bricks, roofing material, large construction and demolition debris and contractor waste - has to go through a private hauler. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Surprise.

How much does TV removal cost in Surprise?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Surprise?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Where do old televisions and computers go in Surprise?

Into an electronic household hazardous waste pickup, which is scheduled separately from the other hazardous material appointment and only runs from February through November. Flat screen televisions, computers and cell phones are on the accepted list, box televisions are refused, and the packages go in labeled boxes no larger than sixteen by sixteen by twelve inches on the driveway against the garage by 6 a.m.Official guidance

How do I get rid of a couch or a mattress in Surprise?

A couch is a household item and rides the free bulk trash pile, inside the ten cubic yard pickup limit and the twenty cubic yard annual allowance, placed against the gutter at least ten feet from any fixed object. A mattress is not named on the city's bulk or refused lists, so call the Solid Waste Department and confirm the piece before it goes out.Official guidance

Are appliances collected with the bulk pile?

No, they need their own appointment. Stoves, washers, dryers, refrigerators, trash compactors, air conditioners and empty water heaters are removed by appointment for a published per pickup charge billed to the utility account, and the bulk crew will not take one without that appointment.Official guidance

How do paint and chemicals leave a Surprise home?

By a driveway pickup scheduled from February through November, with the electronic items scheduled separately. Everything goes in labeled, secured boxes no larger than sixteen by sixteen by twelve inches, at most four boxes per household, placed against the garage by 6 a.m. on the appointment date, and never at the curbside. Tires, box televisions, mercury, sulfuric acid, vape pens, ammunition and commercial or bio medical waste are refused.Official guidance

Is the blue recycling can still collected?

Yes. Garbage and recycling are collected on the same day each week and both cans go out by 6 a.m., while the city's drop off recycling services are suspended after a fire at the hauler's recycling facility, so residents are asked to keep using the blue curbside can until the department says otherwise.Official guidance

What does Surprise refuse in the bulk pile?

Household garbage and food waste, branches over four feet, construction or demolition debris of twenty five pounds or more or longer than four feet and any contractor debris, dirt, rocks, concrete, blocks, bricks, roofing material, metal or car parts over twenty five pounds or longer than four feet, glass such as windows and mirrors, batteries and hazardous materials. The city directs the refused heavy and construction material to a private hauler.Official guidance
