Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

  1. Arrange any unmounting first.

Dropcurb does not remove TVs from walls or do indoor carrying. Arrange the help you need before pickup day, including the trip down interior stairs or through an elevator.

  2. Choose a permitted outdoor spot.

Use a stable, accessible location with a clear path for loading. Keep the TV separate from anything staying. Check building rules before placing it in a shared pickup area.

  3. Show us the TV that is going.

Add a location photo and access notes after booking. Follow the readiness instructions in your confirmation. For exposed broken glass or unusual damage, send a photo and check with us before booking.

Televisions, computers and electronic waste

Accepted with preparation

Electronic waste is collected through the hauler's bulky item program, and the city also runs an annual e-waste recycling and paper shredding event. The county's free household hazardous and electronic waste program is the third route.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. E-waste counts toward the one free bulky item pickup per calendar quarter for a single-family home, up to five household items per pickup. The city event and the county household hazardous and electronic waste program are free to residents, and the county program also runs permanent collection centers.
When & how
Schedule the e-waste on a bulky pickup with the hauler, take it to the city event, or use a county collection event or permanent center. The current city listing is Saturday, October 17, 2026 at the City Hall parking lot, 701 E Carson Street.
Get it ready
Keep electronics out of the recycling and organics carts, because the hauler treats e-waste as a bulky item instead, and keep hazardous material such as batteries and cleaning products on the county hazardous waste route rather than in a cart.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Carson runs a franchise system, so the curb and the bulky pickup both belong to Waste Resources, and the hauler guide is the document with the item rules. A single-family home gets one free bulky item and e-waste pickup per calendar quarter, up to five items, booked by phone up to seven days ahead and no later than noon the day before, and a mattress has to be bagged and sealed before it goes out. Everything the bulky route refuses has another published route rather than a guess: household hazardous waste, batteries and universal waste go through the Los Angeles County program at 888-CLEAN-LA or the S.A.F.E. center in San Pedro, mattresses have no-cost county drop-off, event and retailer take-back options, and construction debris is arranged directly with the hauler because the city publishes no residential rate for it. Can I get same-day TV pickup in Carson?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.
