Treadmill, walking pad or commercial model?
Household treadmill includes folding home models with a tall console. Choose Walking pad for a compact under-desk model, or Commercial treadmill for a large gym machine. All equipment opens those choices.
An exercise bike, elliptical or rower
Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.
Weights, racks and benches
Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

Exercise equipment is not named on the published bulky list, and a machine contains the kind of metal the flyer refuses, so Waste Management has to confirm the machine before it goes out.

Waste Management confirms whether a treadmill, elliptical or weight machine is accepted as a bulky item, because the flyer refuses large pieces of metal. Ask on the scheduling call at 1-800-423-9986 before the machine goes to the curb.
When & how
Call Waste Management at 1-800-423-9986 with the type of machine before scheduling, and if it is accepted, put it out before 6:00 a.m. on the regular collection day.
Get it ready
Take the machine down as far as it will come apart, keep the loose weights and parts with it, and keep the pile within the six item limit for the pickup.
Nothing goes to the curb just because it is large. The pickup is scheduled with Waste Management at least 48 hours ahead, the items join the carts before 6:00 a.m. on the regular collection day, and a different truck may come for them.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.

No charge. Three pickups a calendar year, with up to six items in each pickup, are included for a Chino residence with curbside cart service.

Schedule at least 48 hours ahead at cityofchino.org/wmbulkyitempickup or by calling Waste Management at 1-800-423-9986, then place the items next to the carts before 6:00 a.m. on the regular collection day.
The accepted list refuses loose trash, tires, dirt, sand, rock, large pieces of metal, propane tanks, lithium batteries, hazardous chemicals and construction material, and electronic waste is limited to three items a calendar year.

Can you pick up a treadmill or exercise bike today?+
Book by 2pm in the pickup address’s local time for same-day pickup. Available dates appear at checkout. Have the equipment outside and accessible according to your confirmation. You receive pickup updates and completion photos; we book a day rather than an exact appointment time.
Will you dismantle my treadmill or carry it out of the basement?+
Dropcurb pickup starts outside. Arrange indoor carrying, stairs and any dismantling needed to get your equipment out before pickup. Check the moving instructions for your exact model and arrange suitable help. We load and haul away the equipment from an accessible outdoor spot.
Which option covers a Peloton, spin bike or recumbent bike?+
Choose Exercise bike for one stationary bike, including spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes. Peloton and other brands use the same stationary-bike choice. A treadmill, walking pad and outdoor bicycle are different items, so select their matching options.
How do I book free weights, a weight rack or a bench?+
Enter the combined weight in pounds for your dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Booking rounds that total up to the next 10 lb unit: 25 lb uses three units. Stands, racks and benches are separate items and do not include the loose weights. Add each one that is going.
Will Chino take a treadmill as a bulky item?+
The published bulky list names household furniture, housing fixtures, appliances and white goods, miscellaneous household items, carpet, electronics and mattresses, and it refuses large pieces of metal, so a machine has to be confirmed. Who collects trash in Chino?+
The City contracts all refuse and recycling service to Waste Management, including collection, disposal and customer service, while the City bills residential accounts on the utility bill. How is the residential trash rate set?+
The City Council adopts the rate each year. Resolution 2026-037 confirms a five percent adjustment to the service components effective July 1, 2026, and the resolution states that the disposal components are passed through, with the landfill tipping fee set by Riverside County and the organics processing rate set by the franchisee's processor.Official guidance
Who handles service for apartments and shared buildings?+
Waste Management handles collection for multi-family and commercial accounts, and the City directs organics questions from apartment residents to the property manager. A renter should ask the manager who holds the account before scheduling anything with the hauler.Official guidance
What do I do with paint, chemicals, batteries and medicines?+
Chino and San Bernardino County residents can take household hazardous waste to the Public Works Services Yard at 5050 Schaefer Avenue on the second or fourth Saturday of the month from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., free of charge, with a limit of 15 gallons or 125 pounds per visit in containers no larger than 5 gallons. Sharps and business waste are not accepted, and the City runs a sharps mail-back kit through Waste Management instead.Official guidance
Where do tires and scrap metal go?+
Tires are refused in the carts and on a bulky pickup, so they go to a tire retailer or to a San Bernardino County site, which takes up to nine rollable tires per load off the rim for an added fee. Large pieces of metal are also left off the bulky program.Official guidance
