City cost & eligibility
No charge. Furniture rides the one free bulky goods collection each calendar year for a residential account, with two bulky items allowed per collection as long as neither exceeds 200 pounds. Additional cleanups may carry a charge.
When & how
Schedule the collection with Republic Services at least a week ahead, then put the furniture out on your regular collection day, the night before or by 4 a.m.
Get it ready
Keep each piece at or under 200 pounds and free of loose parts, put it at the end of the driveway where it meets the sidewalk or grass area, and keep tires, appliances and other materials in their own groups so the crew can see what is being collected.

Bulk items go out the night before or by 4 a.m. on the scheduled pickup date, at the end of the driveway where it meets the sidewalk or grass area, as close to the sidewalk as possible without blocking foot traffic. Everything has to be bagged, boxed, bundled or otherwise contained, and bundles must be no longer than four feet and no heavier than 60 pounds.
The bulky goods collection has to be scheduled with Republic Services, with a minimum of one week of notice, and the city page asks residents to allow two weeks. The pickup happens on your regular collection day, it is once per calendar year, and the office should be told at least one business day ahead to cancel or reschedule.

Vehicles, vehicle parts and batteries, motorcycles, dirt, rock, stucco, concrete, treated wood, hot ashes, animal waste, poison oak, microwaves, commercial refrigerators and freezers, toxic substances and paint, other electronic waste, and propane or pressurized tanks are refused.
