Get it ready
A television or monitor under 32 inches and under four feet by four feet and 60 pounds can count as one bag, box or bundle toward the 12 container allowance, while a larger set counts as one of the two bulky items, so decide which allowance you are using when you schedule. Wipe personal data from computers and phones, and remember that other electronic waste is not accepted in this collection.
Out the night before or by 4 a.m. at the end of the driveway
Bulk items go out the night before or by 4 a.m. on the scheduled pickup date, at the end of the driveway where it meets the sidewalk or grass area, as close to the sidewalk as possible without blocking foot traffic. Everything has to be bagged, boxed, bundled or otherwise contained, and bundles must be no longer than four feet and no heavier than 60 pounds.
The bulky goods collection has to be scheduled with Republic Services, with a minimum of one week of notice, and the city page asks residents to allow two weeks. The pickup happens on your regular collection day, it is once per calendar year, and the office should be told at least one business day ahead to cancel or reschedule.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.
A household with one or two large items such as a couch, mattress, appliance or television, plus up to two cubic yards of contained material, that can wait for a scheduled pickup.
