Get it ready
Remove data from computers, phones and drives before drop-off, and keep electronics out of all three carts, which refuse e-waste.
The carts refuse tires, paint, electronic waste, batteries, fluorescent bulbs, medicines, used motor oil, medical sharps, liquids and construction materials, and a contaminated cart draws a courtesy notice with possible fees.

Public disposal only, for Orange County residents, with no waste from businesses, churches, schools, nonprofit organizations or government agencies. Proof of county residence may be requested. One vehicle is limited to 15 gallons or 125 pounds per trip, containers larger than five gallons are not accepted, and materials must arrive in original containers with lids, except motor oil, fuels and antifreeze. Tires, asbestos, ammunition, explosives, radioactive materials, smoke detectors and high-pressure cylinders are refused.
