Empty the unit and secure or remove the doors, and ask the hauler about refrigerant handling when you book, because the city publishes no separate cooling appliance process.
Carts out by 6:30 a.m. and back in within 12 hours
Laguna Niguel carts go to the curb no later than 6:30 a.m. on collection day and come back within 12 hours after service, with the handles and wheels facing the home. Leave carts side by side about a foot apart and at least three feet from vehicles, fire hydrants and trees, keep the lids closed, and remember that nothing outside a cart is collected unless a bulky pickup has been arranged.
Two free bulky pickups a year, and a move-in pickup uses both
Each residential customer gets two free bulky item pickups a calendar year for anything that will not fit in the automated carts, and further pickups can be arranged at a nominal charge. A new resident who has the hauler collect paper, cardboard and packing material gets that service free, but it counts as both of the free pickups, so the rest of the year has none left.
