The hauler collects electronic waste at the curb for a nominal charge and publishes no amount, so confirm the price with CR&R at (949) 520-6005. Two free routes exist beside it: single-family homes get up to two household hazardous waste pickups a calendar year that include personal electronic items, and the county collection centres take electronic waste from Orange County residents at no charge.
When & how
Call CR&R at (949) 520-6005 to arrange a curbside collection, book one of the two free household hazardous waste pickups at least five business days ahead, or take the device to a county collection centre Tuesday through Saturday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Get it ready
Erase personal information from a computer, phone or drive before the device leaves your hands because no destruction happens at the county centres, remove loose batteries where the device allows, and keep electronic waste and universal waste out of all three carts.
Hazardous waste, electronic waste and a Freon unit stay off the carts
Household hazardous waste is illegal in any cart, and electronic waste and universal waste are barred from every automated container as well. A refrigerator or another unit holding Freon needs a separate collection, and household hazardous waste moves through the two free pickups a year for single-family homes or through a county collection centre instead.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.

The collection needs the item and quantity list in advance, sharps have to be in an approved container, and the county centres refuse waste from businesses, schools, non-profit organisations, government agencies and residents outside Orange County.

Loads must be covered or secured, and hazardous waste belongs at the collection centre on site rather than in a disposal load.

Household hazardous waste and electronic waste from Orange County residents, including paint, cleaners, oils, batteries, pesticides, and electronic devices such as televisions, tablets, cell phones and computers.
Residential loads only, with proof of county residence possibly requested, and businesses, schools, non-profit organisations, government agencies and residents outside Orange County are refused. A maximum of 15 gallons or 125 pounds per vehicle per trip, no containers larger than five gallons, containers must be labelled, non-leaking and lidded, and oil-based and latex paint must not be mixed.

Data erasure and certified data destruction are not included in Dropcurb removal. Back up the information you need, then follow the manufacturer’s sign-out and reset instructions before pickup. If a device cannot be erased or contains sensitive business information, arrange suitable data handling before giving it away. Yes. Box of electronics is an existing option for small devices, cables and chargers together in one box. A monitor, desktop computer and printer each have their own item option. Send a photo before booking for a large or heavy box, unusual contents or separate batteries so we can confirm the fit.
