Treadmill, walking pad or commercial model?
Household treadmill includes folding home models with a tall console. Choose Walking pad for a compact under-desk model, or Commercial treadmill for a large gym machine. All equipment opens those choices.
An exercise bike, elliptical or rower
Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.
Weights, racks and benches
Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

Exercise equipment is named on the prohibited list for the no-charge on-call cleanup, so a treadmill cannot go out with those three cleanups, but the franchise rate exhibit prices used exercise equipment as a bulky item on a paid on-call pickup. A household that wants the machine collected pays the bulky item rate for the visit.
City cost & eligibility
From $67.72 per pickup for a bulky item such as used exercise equipment in the Livermore Sanitation bulky item and e-waste on-call pickup rates effective July 1, 2026. Single-family, multi-family, commercial and government customers of the franchised hauler. The three no-charge cleanups in a rolling 12-month period exclude exercise equipment.
When & how
Book the paid pickup with Livermore Sanitation at 925-449-7300, and it runs on the same appointment system as the cleanup service rather than on a walk-up basis.
Get it ready
Take the machine down only as far as two people can handle it, remove the console and any battery so the electronics are handled separately, and confirm the pickup price by item when the visit is booked, because the bulky item rate prices one item per pickup.
Liquids, loose or unbundled material, items longer than 5 feet, construction and demolition debris, dirt, rock, brick, cement, automotive batteries and fluids, hazardous or infectious waste such as pesticides and items holding oil, gas or Freon, treated wood waste, exercise equipment, car parts, motorcycle parts and tires are all refused. A single item over 75 pounds is also refused unless it is the one allowed appliance or the one allowed furniture piece.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.
A household with an appliance, a television, a bulky item or a load of junk that has already used its three no-charge cleanups for the year.

From $27.08 per pickup for an e-waste item in the Livermore Sanitation bulky item and e-waste on-call pickup rates effective July 1, 2026, with bulky items and major appliances priced higher on the same schedule. The price depends on the item: e-waste is priced lowest, household bulky items such as furniture, beds, box springs, bicycles and used exercise equipment sit in the middle, and major appliances holding oil, fuel or Freon are priced highest. The same material exclusions as the no-charge program still apply.

Residential, commercial and municipal garbage, recyclables, organic waste, construction and demolition material including clean drywall, clean brick, concrete and asphalt without rebar, clean soil and wood waste, tires up to nine with rims no larger than 18 inches, mattresses and box springs, metal appliances and white goods, and televisions and monitors.
A one unit minimum applies to every price, an environmental fee and a variable fuel recovery fee are added to every load, an uncovered residential load carries an extra charge, and a hard to handle load such as bulky items needing special handling carries a large additional charge. Out-of-county waste carries an Alameda County fee and non-residential, non-franchise disposal carries a city equalization charge.
Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., closed Sunday, with shortened hours on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve and the day after Christmas treated as a regular working day.
From $51.5 per cubic yard for a residential mixed waste load in the Vasco Road Landfill gate rates effective February 1, 2026, with separated clean material, per-item loads and recycling priced separately on the same sheet. Any household or hauler delivering to the gate, with fees collected at the scale and a one unit minimum applied to the total.

Dropcurb pickup starts outside. Arrange indoor carrying, stairs and any dismantling needed to get your equipment out before pickup. Check the moving instructions for your exact model and arrange suitable help. We load and haul away the equipment from an accessible outdoor spot.
Which option covers a Peloton, spin bike or recumbent bike?+
Choose Exercise bike for one stationary bike, including spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes. Peloton and other brands use the same stationary-bike choice. A treadmill, walking pad and outdoor bicycle are different items, so select their matching options.
How do I book free weights, a weight rack or a bench?+
Enter the combined weight in pounds for your dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Booking rounds that total up to the next 10 lb unit: 25 lb uses three units. Stands, racks and benches are separate items and do not include the loose weights. Add each one that is going.
Will Livermore take a treadmill on a cleanup?+
Not on one of the three no-charge cleanups, because exercise equipment is on the hauler's prohibited list for that service. Can I take my own load to the Vasco Road Landfill?+
Yes. The gate at 4001 North Vasco Road takes residential loads Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., closed Sunday, and it is operated by Republic Services on a city disposal agreement. Every load is weighed and charged with a one unit minimum plus an environmental fee and a fuel recovery fee, mixed waste is priced by the cubic yard, separated clean material is priced lower, and bulky items that need special handling carry a large additional charge.Official guidance
