Book the unwanted bags and boxes left after packing. Choose an available pickup day before you hand back the keys, and arrange to have them outside.

Count each trash bag or filled household box. Books and media go by the box. Clothes, bedding and shoes go by the filled bag. Toys packed together have a Box of toys choice. Ask us about unusually heavy or oversized bags and boxes first.
Empty cardboard is a different choice: choose single empty boxes or tied bundles of 10 flattened boxes. Compacted bales have their own weight-based choices and require loading-dock access. A Storage bin choice covers the empty bin itself; ask us to confirm the contents if they are going too.
Add the actual larger item alongside your bags and boxes, such as a sofa, chair or mattress. It has its own price and preparation. Keep construction materials and items needing special handling out of ordinary household bags.

Moreno Valley residents may request up to four bulky and electronic waste pickups per month at no charge, and additional pickups are available for a minimal charge. The programme takes items too large for a cart and lists furniture, mattresses, appliances, televisions, tires and oversized yard waste.
Discarded furniture is named in the bulky item list, including chairs, sofas, mattresses and rugs, so a couch leaves on a scheduled pickup rather than in a cart.
Mattresses are named in the bulky item furniture list, so a mattress or box spring leaves on one of the free monthly pickups rather than going in a cart.
The bulky list names large appliances including refrigerators with freon, ranges, washers, dryers, water heaters, dishwashers and air conditioning units with CFCs, along with small household appliances and other items known as white goods.
Televisions and electronic appliances are named in the bulky item list, the city runs free dump days for bulky items and electronic waste, and the Badlands Sanitary Landfill takes residential televisions, monitors and cathode ray tubes.
Construction and demolition material does not go out with household collection. The city runs a diversion programme under chapter 8.80, requires 65 percent diversion on covered projects, and requires all disposal to be arranged through the franchise hauler.
Exercise equipment is not named in the bulky item lists, and the city refuses items that cannot be safely lifted and collected by one person, so a treadmill or weight bench has to be confirmed with the hauler before it goes out.
The handoff matters
Place carts at the curb by 6 a.m. on the collection day, rolled into the street and set against the curb with the handles facing your home. Leave at least two feet between carts and other objects, bring the empty carts in by 6 p.m. the same day and store them out of public view.
