Collection is weekly, and garbage collection begins early in the morning, so carts are set at the curb the night before. Extra garbage has to be scheduled at least one day before the regular collection day, and loose material outside a cart is not collected.

The blue cart takes empty, clean and dry recyclables and the green cart takes food scraps, soiled paper and plants, both without plastic or compostable plastic bags, with paper bags acceptable for compost. Tree trimmings go in under six inches in diameter and four feet long, and only small pieces of clean lumber or sawdust go in, never plywood, pressboard, painted, stained or treated wood.

What happens to a holiday tree?+
Trees are collected at the curb on the service day between December 30 and January 10.
