Count each trash bag or filled household box. Books and media go by the box. Clothes, bedding and shoes go by the filled bag. Toys packed together have a Box of toys choice. Ask us about unusually heavy or oversized bags and boxes first.
Empty cardboard is a different choice: choose single empty boxes or tied bundles of 10 flattened boxes. Compacted bales have their own weight-based choices and require loading-dock access. A Storage bin choice covers the empty bin itself; ask us to confirm the contents if they are going too.

Visalia has no curbside bulky pickup. The city's own bulky routes are the free Dump On Us events, held at the City Yard on Cain Street with a utility bill for proof of residency, up to two landfill vouchers per household each calendar year, and rented bins for clean-ups.
The handoff matters
Set garbage, recycling and yard waste cans three feet apart from each other and ten feet from parked cars, boats, trailers, basketball hoops and similar obstructions, in the street within one foot of the curb and where there is fifteen feet of overhead clearance. Cans go out no earlier than 7 p.m. the day before collection and are curbside by 6 a.m. on collection day, because the automatic arms cannot service a can boxed in by other objects.
