Treadmill, walking pad or commercial model?
Household treadmill includes folding home models with a tall console. Choose Walking pad for a compact under-desk model, or Commercial treadmill for a large gym machine. All equipment opens those choices.
An exercise bike, elliptical or rower
Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.
Weights, racks and benches
Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

Exercise equipment is not named on either the accepted list or the exclusion list for the District's bulky item service, so a treadmill or weight machine is confirmed before it is set out.
City cost & eligibility
The bulky item service is provided at no extra cost to ratepayers, but the District does not name exercise equipment. Confirm the item and any charge at (714) 893-3553 before booking.
When & how
Call the District at (714) 893-3553 or email info@midwaycitysanitaryca.gov at least one week before the service date, and confirm the item first.
Get it ready
Exercise equipment appears on neither the accepted list nor the exclusion list, so confirm acceptance before the pickup rather than assuming the furniture rule covers it.
Under Ordinance No. 53 of the Midway City Sanitary District, no curbside container may be placed next to a street more than 24 hours before collection time, every container must be removed from the street within 12 hours after collection, and containers must be kept where they are not visible from the street.
The District observes New Year's Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. When the holiday falls on or before your service day, refuse collection is one day later for the entire week, and service does not change on any other holiday.

Which option covers a Peloton, spin bike or recumbent bike?+
Choose Exercise bike for one stationary bike, including spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes. Peloton and other brands use the same stationary-bike choice. A treadmill, walking pad and outdoor bicycle are different items, so select their matching options.
How do I book free weights, a weight rack or a bench?+
