City cost & eligibility
The gate sheet prices an appliance without Freon at $55 each and an appliance with Freon at $77 each, charged on top of the load price, and it notes that those recycling fees sit outside the fuel and environmental recovery fees. Confirm which rate applies to the unit before it is loaded.

Households arrange curbside service with a private hauler, which is what the community association's waste page describes while it works on a consolidated program for the neighbourhood. A landfill load has to be covered and unloaded safely
Every load must be covered before arrival, because an uncovered load is charged twice the price of the load, and anyone who leaves the vehicle to unload has to wear a safety vest and hat, which can be bought at the scale house. Minors are not allowed out of vehicles and smoking is not allowed in the disposal areas. Hand unloading stops 30 minutes before the site closes, at 4:30 p.m. on weekdays and 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Hazardous material and electronics go to Rooney Road
The landfill refuses liquids, paint, tires, chemicals, batteries, friable asbestos and electronic waste, so those items go to the Rooney Road Recycling Center at 151 South Rooney Road in Golden, which takes paint, cleaners, pesticides, motor oil, antifreeze, electronics and batteries from Jefferson County residents. It runs by appointment on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., residents pay a co-pay for up to 75 pounds of hazardous material with a per pound rate above that, electronics are priced by the pound with a per unit maximum for televisions, and paint, motor oil and automotive batteries are accepted free.
