Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

  2. Choose a permitted outdoor spot.

Use a stable, accessible location with a clear path for loading. Keep the TV separate from anything staying. Check building rules before placing it in a shared pickup area.

Electronics and televisions

Special rules apply

Electronics do not ride the bulk pickup and are refused at the Tower Landfill free days. The city routes them to Adams County electronics recycling events and to retailers such as Best Buy and Staples, and it lists its own Electronics Recycling Days as drop-off events with locations and dates still to be determined.

City cost & eligibility
The city publishes the electronics routes but no price and no fixed drop-off schedule: the Adams County events and the retailer counters set their own terms, and the city's own electronics days have locations and dates to be determined. Confirm the event and any charge before loading a vehicle.
When & how
Check the Adams County recycling events page, or a participating retailer, and watch the city page for the Electronics Recycling Days once locations and dates are published.
Get it ready
Keep electronics out of the trash cart, the recycling cart and the bulk pile, wipe personal data before handover, and keep batteries out of every cart because they are refused in both the trash and the recycling streams.

Four free landfill days come with their own rules

Four pre-scheduled free days a year let residents take large quantities of trash or large and oddly shaped items to the Tower Landfill at 19260 E. 88th Ave. Proof of residency by Colorado ID is required, one load per household, every load must be covered with a tarp if it is not contained in the vehicle, mattresses and box springs are charged the current gate rate, cars, vans and SUVs are free along with the first five yards of a pickup or trailer with anything over five yards charged the gate rate plus an applicable fee, and appliances are accepted free only on those days and only without refrigerant. Hazardous materials, used oil, medical waste, ammunition, fireworks, fluorescent bulbs, tires, batteries, electronics and liquids are prohibited there.

The carts have their own boundaries

Trash goes in the 96 gallon black lid cart and must be bagged with the lid closed, and a household that opts out of recycling can request a second trash cart. Recycling uses the green or light blue lid cart and runs every other week, with material placed loose, empty, clean and dry, and batteries, food waste, scrap metal, foam, mirrors and ceramics never belong in the recycling cart.

For your Dropcurb pickup

Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.

Recycle electronics through a county event or a retailer

A household with a television, a computer or another device that cannot go in the carts or on the bulk pickup.

Cost & conditions
Adams County holds electronics events each year and retailers such as Best Buy and Staples take certain devices, with each setting its own terms, and the city's own electronics days have locations and dates still to be determined, so confirm before a trip.
Arrange it
Check the Adams County recycling events page or a participating retailer, and watch the city page for the published Electronics Recycling Days.

There is no standing city electronics drop-off with published hours, and electronics are prohibited at the Tower Landfill free days, so the route depends on an event or a store counter.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Commerce City's household routes are the quarterly bulk pickup, the annual cleanup day and the Tower Landfill free days. A bulk pickup is free once a quarter, booked with Republic Services at 303.286.1200 from Monday to Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., and covers the published acceptable list from furniture, mattresses, bundled carpet, dishwashers, doors and hot water heaters through washers, dryers, barbecue grills, porcelain sinks and toilets and garage doors in four foot sections, while construction debris, tires, glass, stoves, air conditioners, appliances with Freon and exercise equipment are refused. An extra pickup costs a published per item fee. Once a year each neighborhood gets a curbside cleanup day with up to five large items, and four pre-scheduled free days at the Tower Landfill at 19260 E. 88th Ave. take a whole load, with a mattress charged the gate rate, appliances limited to units without refrigerant, and hazardous material, tires, batteries, electronics, liquids, fireworks and fluorescent bulbs prohibited. Electronics go to Adams County events or retailers, and household chemicals go through the city voucher program to the Veolia center in Henderson, with paint also accepted at PaintCare sites, the Veolia center by appointment and two local Ace Hardware counters. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Commerce City.

How much does TV removal cost in Commerce City?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Commerce City?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Where do televisions and computers go in Commerce City?

Not in the carts and not on the bulk pickup, because electronics are refused at the Tower Landfill free days and batteries are barred from both the trash and the recycling carts. The city points residents at Adams County electronics recycling events and at retailers such as Best Buy and Staples, and it lists its own Electronics Recycling Days as drop-off events whose locations and dates are still to be determined.Official guidance

Who collects trash and bulky items in Commerce City?

Republic Services runs the city's residential collection, the carts and the bulk pickup program, and answers at 303.286.1200 from Monday to Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. The City of Commerce City publishes the annual collection guide, the cleanup days, the landfill free days and the household hazardous waste voucher program.Official guidance

What free disposal events does Commerce City run?

The city runs four free days a year at the Tower Landfill, four free green yard waste drop-off events at A1 Organics at 9109 Monaco St. in Henderson, a free tire recycling day with up to eight tires per resident at the Municipal Service Center at 8602 Rosemary St., and the annual neighborhood curbside cleanup day with up to five large items. Electronics recycling days are also listed, with locations and dates to be determined.Official guidance

Which items can never go in a Commerce City cart?

Clean recyclables, construction debris, mattresses and household hazardous waste are unacceptable in the trash cart, and batteries, food waste, mirrors and ceramics, scrap metal, foam, aerosol cans, aluminum foil, bagged film plastic and tissues or paper towels can never go in the recycling cart. Electronics and hazardous materials are barred from both, and the bulk pickup adds stoves, air conditioners, Freon appliances, tires, glass and exercise equipment to the refused list.Official guidance
