Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Text us about your setup
  1. Arrange any unmounting first.

Dropcurb does not remove TVs from walls or do indoor carrying. Arrange the help you need before pickup day, including the trip down interior stairs or through an elevator.

  2. Choose a permitted outdoor spot.

Use a stable, accessible location with a clear path for loading. Keep the TV separate from anything staying. Check building rules before placing it in a shared pickup area.

  3. Show us the TV that is going.

Add a location photo and access notes after booking. Follow the readiness instructions in your confirmation. For exposed broken glass or unusual damage, send a photo and check with us before booking.

Televisions, computers and electronics

Accepted with preparation

Large electronics are refused on the large item route, and the city's Hard to Recycle event takes screens, computers and corded devices with the first item free.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. At the Hard to Recycle event the first television or screen is free, additional screens cost $1.00 per screen inch for a flat screen and $3.00 per inch for a CRT, and desktop and laptop computers, cell phones, cameras, game consoles, stereo equipment, cables and wires are free, while corded items and small appliances are free for the first 40 pounds and $0.40 per pound after that.
When & how
Reserve a slot for the Hard to Recycle event through Green Girl Recycling and take the device to 1801 Boston Ave. during the October 5 to 17, 2026 window.
Get it ready
Erase personal data before the device leaves your hands, keep electronics out of the trash cart and off the large item pickup because both refuse them, and check the item against the event's list because items such as light bulbs and chemicals belong at the Boulder County facility instead.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Longmont runs the collection itself, so the city routes come first. A large item pickup covers up to three items on your regular collection day for the published fee, two free landfill days a year take one level pickup truck load of large items and debris to Front Range Landfill in Erie with proof of residency, and a four cubic yard residential dumpster rents for a week between February and October with its own refusal list. Everything the large item route refuses has a published destination: household appliances are free at the Longmont Recycling Center, which also takes scrap metal, oil and batteries, large electronics and the first screen or mattress are handled at the October Hard to Recycle event, and household chemicals go to the Boulder County hazardous waste facility in Boulder free of charge to Longmont residents, with a city chemical drop-off day each August. Construction and remodeling debris has no city route at all, so a project load needs a private hauler or a container company. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Longmont.

How much does TV removal cost in Longmont?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Longmont?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

How do Longmont televisions and computers get recycled?

The city refuses large electronics such as televisions, computers and microwaves on the large item pickup and in the trash cart. The annual Hard to Recycle event runs October 5 to 17, 2026 by reservation, with the first screen free, flat screens then charged per screen inch, CRTs charged at a higher inch rate, and computers, phones, cameras, consoles, stereos, cables and wires free.Official guidance
