Two views of the same room corner: a treadmill on the left, and a small desk and chair in its place on the right.
A new use for the same space, once the old machine is outside and gone.

Room for what comes next

Your space can have a new purpose.

A home office. Room for a guest. A little more floor to enjoy. When an old machine is in the way, a clear pickup plan makes the next step easier.

The room is changing.

Book the equipment you are ready to let go of, whether it is one exercise bike or several machines. See the total before making the plan.

A replacement is coming.

Check whether your retailer includes removal. If the old treadmill is still your responsibility, give it a pickup day of its own.

It is not making the move.

Settle the price online, arrange to have it outside, and follow the pickup through text updates and completion photos. One less thing to coordinate before the keys change hands.

Match the machine

The right choice covers the right equipment.

Choose by the type of equipment. A brand name does not mean a different item, but a walking pad and a full treadmill do.

Treadmill, walking pad or commercial model?

Household treadmill includes folding home models with a tall console. Choose Walking pad for a compact under-desk model, or Commercial treadmill for a large gym machine. All equipment opens those choices.

An exercise bike, elliptical or rower

Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.

Weights, racks and benches

Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

Ready for pickup

Plan the move outside before pickup day.

A machine can be too heavy or awkward for a solo move. Arrange suitable help for indoor carrying, stairs or any dismantling needed to reach the outdoor pickup spot.

A pickup day is not an exact arrival window. Tell us before booking about a shared loading area, restricted outdoor access or equipment whose size or setup you are unsure how to select.

Your place. One easy pickup plan.

A house, a condo or an apartment. Choose an accessible outdoor spot that works for your property. You arrange the move outside; we take it from there.

Exercise equipment

Special rules apply

Exercise equipment is not named by the city or by the county facilities, so the machine has to be confirmed before it leaves the property.

City cost & eligibility
No published rate covers an exercise machine. The city container takes metal but refuses furniture and household goods, the county hard-to-recycle site charges by material category rather than by machine, and the hauler on the account prices its own large item service, so call Republic at 303-286-5400 and the county site at 303-444-6634 before moving it.
When & how
Ask the hauler first, then ask the county site whether the machine fits one of its metal or electronic categories, and only then load it.
Get it ready
Take the machine down as far as it will come apart and keep the loose weights with it. A metal frame with no refrigerant and at least half metal by weight is the best case at the county site, and a machine with a large plastic housing or an internal battery may fall into an electronics category with a per pound charge instead.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Louisville keeps its own drop off sites for metal and yard waste and sends everything else hard to recycle into Boulder County. The city container at the RV Dump Station on Empire Road at State Highway 42 takes scrap metal, aluminum, brass, bronze, copper, stainless steel, steel and water heaters, but it refuses chemicals, electronics, furniture, hazardous waste, household garbage, paint cans, solvents and liquids and yard material. Woody yard waste goes to the city branch site north of the Louisville Cemetery, leaves and grass clippings go to the Sports Complex leaf drop from October 20 to November 23, and Republic customers can put yard trimmings in the compost cart. Mattresses, refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, televisions and other hard-to-recycle items go to the Eco-Cycle site at 6400 Arapahoe Road in Boulder, open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a facility fee per vehicle and published item charges. Paint and chemicals go to the Boulder County hazardous waste facility at 1901 63rd St., open Wednesday through Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the county publishes no drop-off fee, so confirm the terms on 720-564-2251 before a trip. Usable furniture, appliances and building material go to the reuse center next to the hard-to-recycle site, where the county publishes no donation terms, and the county construction directory lists a transfer station at 5880 Butte Mill Rd. that accepts mattresses, large appliances, electronics, concrete and yard trimmings. Choose all your items to see the combined price. Loading, transportation and disposal are included, with any applicable sales tax shown before payment.

Can you pick up a treadmill or exercise bike today?

Book by 2pm in the pickup address’s local time for same-day pickup. Available dates appear at checkout. Have the equipment outside and accessible according to your confirmation. You receive pickup updates and completion photos; we book a day rather than an exact appointment time.

Will you dismantle my treadmill or carry it out of the basement?

Dropcurb pickup starts outside. Arrange indoor carrying, stairs and any dismantling needed to get your equipment out before pickup. Check the moving instructions for your exact model and arrange suitable help. We load and haul away the equipment from an accessible outdoor spot.

Which option covers a Peloton, spin bike or recumbent bike?

Choose Exercise bike for one stationary bike, including spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes. Peloton and other brands use the same stationary-bike choice. A treadmill, walking pad and outdoor bicycle are different items, so select their matching options.

How do I book free weights, a weight rack or a bench?

Enter the combined weight in pounds for your dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Booking rounds that total up to the next 10 lb unit: 25 lb uses three units. Stands, racks and benches are separate items and do not include the loose weights. Add each one that is going.

Will Louisville take an exercise machine?

There is no published route. The city scrap metal container refuses furniture and household goods, the county hard-to-recycle site sorts by material category rather than by machine, so call Republic at 303-286-5400 and the county site at 303-444-6634 before the machine is moved.Official guidance
