Get it ready
Keep electronic waste out of the carts and out of a voucher load because the voucher does not cover electronic equipment, wipe personal data before handover, and keep batteries, bulbs and other hazardous material on their own routes rather than mixing them into the electronics load.
The cleanup voucher has a size limit and a list it will not cover
The Household Clean-up voucher is for a City of Loveland resident who pays the monthly solid waste programs fee, it is valid for one year, it can be used once, and it is not available at the Recycling Center. The load cannot exceed a standard pickup load equivalent, about 2.7 cubic yards, and it has to arrive with household trash bagged and recyclables separated from the cleanup material. The voucher does not cover hazardous waste of any kind, which the city lists as computers, televisions, tires, mattresses, electronic equipment, paint, fluorescent bulbs, cleaning products, asbestos containing material, solvents, acids, degreasers, pesticides and adhesives, and normal fees apply to certain items the center takes.

Wilson Avenue, closed Mondays and open Tuesday through Sunday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with holiday closures that include Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Payment is taken at the entrance by cash or check, with 100 dollar bills no longer accepted from October 1, 2026, or by Visa, Mastercard and Discover with a 2.85 percent service fee on card transactions. Mattresses and box springs carry a published fee each and an infested unit is refused, refrigerant appliances carry a separate charge, and concrete has to be 30 inches or smaller in a load of no more than 2.5 cubic yards and free of rebar, wood, dirt and trash.
The curbside special pickup runs on weekdays with notice
A special curbside pickup for an oversized item is scheduled Monday through Friday with a 24 hour notice by calling the Solid Waste Division at 970-962-2529, and the fee is based on the size and volume of the pickup and billed to the city utility account. The city's acceptable list names sofas, refrigerators, hot water heaters, mattresses, chairs, carpeting which needs a quote, and doors, plus televisions and other large items. A household that still has its annual cleanup voucher can drop the same item at the Recycling Center free instead.
Cart rules that apply all year and matter most in snow
Only trash carts with a closed lid are collected, and an overfilled cart is not acceptable. Since January 2, 2023 a resident may set out up to five 32 gallon or 50 pound bags beside the cart and a four dollar charge per bag is added to the next utility bill, with the driver's camera system documenting the count. In snow, the city asks residents to shovel a path to both carts, keep the carts clear of snow and off ice, put them as far into the street as possible rather than behind a snow bank, and leave two feet of space on either side for the collection arms.

A household with paint, chemicals, solvents, pesticides, propane tanks, motor oil, fluorescent tubes or electronic equipment the city will not take.
Cost & conditions
The city names the Larimer County household hazardous waste program and the depot at the Central Diversion and Transfer Station as the destination for these items but publishes no fee for it, so confirm the terms and the accepted material with the county before the trip.
Arrange it
Take the material to the Larimer County household hazardous waste depot during its opening hours, keeping the containers upright and closed, and use the city's free paint and shredding event when it runs.
The depot is the county's program rather than the city's, so the acceptance rules and days come from Larimer County, and nothing hazardous may be placed in a cart, a voucher load or a rented container.
