Cape Coral collects bulk waste on the same day as the regular garbage, recycling and yard waste run, so a sofa or a mattress goes to the curb rather than waiting for an appointment. Bulk items sit within three feet of the road, are never stacked, and nothing that fits in the trash bin belongs in the pile, while any single item over 150 pounds is refused. Appliances are their own category: white goods such as refrigerators, washers and dryers are acceptable, central air units are not, and a resident can ask Waste Pro for a free special pickup of the white goods. Anything too awkward for the curb can go to the bulk waste drop-off site on Kismet Parkway, open Tuesday through Saturday, and chemicals, paint, liquids and electronic waste go to Lee County's permanent household chemical waste facility or to one of the city's two annual collection events at City Hall.

It refuses regular garbage and recyclables, construction debris, and household chemical waste, paints and liquids. The two annual city events with Waste Pro and Lee County run from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. on November 7, 2026 at the City Hall parking lot on 1015 Cultural Park Boulevard and on May 1, 2027 across from City Hall at 1020 Cultural Park Boulevard, taking chemicals, electronics, batteries, automotive oil and gas and propane tanks, with no white goods accepted.
