Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Televisions, computers and electronics

Accepted with preparation

The city collects electronic waste at the curb, unboxed on the sidewalk, on the scheduled pickup day.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. Electronic waste collection is part of the city sanitation service at no extra charge, and the county drop off centers also accept electronics from county residents with proof of residency.
When & how
Place the items unboxed along the curb before 7 a.m. on the scheduled pickup day, and use the county mobile unit or a drop off center for anything the city's own pickup does not cover.
Get it ready
The city lists televisions, DVD players, VCRs, computers, stereos, CD players and fax machines, so keep the device whole and handle it carefully so glass components do not shatter. Wipe personal data before a computer leaves the house.

City of Clermont Sanitation Department, with Lake County running the household hazardous waste and landfill sites

Put bulk items and electronics out with the city collection

A city sanitation customer with gas grills, appliances, a water heater, a mattress, furniture, bundled carpet or electronic waste to clear.

Cost & conditions
No charge. Bulk items and electronic waste are included in the monthly residential sanitation rate, which is 29.78 a month for one trash cart and one recycle cart, with each additional cart at 15.68 a month. No per item charge is published for a bulk item.
Arrange it
Set the items at the curb no later than 7 a.m. on the collection day, with the electronics unboxed along the sidewalk and carpet bundled into four foot sections.

Building materials, tires, motor oil and hazardous waste cannot be collected and have to go to a separate facility. A contractor who performs an installation has to remove the resulting waste rather than leaving it at the curb, and only city issued green carts are collected.

See the bulk item list

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Clermont collects its own waste and charges 29.78 a month for one trash cart and one recycle cart, with a second cart at 15.68 a month, and the curbside program includes bulk items and electronic waste at no extra cost. Gas grills, refrigerators, washing machines, dryers, water heaters, mattresses and furniture go to the curb by 7 a.m. on the collection day, carpet and padding have to be bundled into four foot sections, and televisions, computers, stereos, DVD players and fax machines go out unboxed on the scheduled pickup day. What the city cannot take is where the trips come in. Tires, motor oil, paint, thinners, batteries, antifreeze, cleaning fluids, aerosols, propane tanks, pool chemicals and pesticides go to the Log House Road Transfer Station at 10435 Log House Road in Clermont, which Lake County now lists as open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. while the city guide still prints Wednesdays and Saturdays, so call 352-394-5137 before a trip, or to the county's central household hazardous waste center at 13130 County Landfill Road in Tavares, open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., where household limits apply and a larger quantity can be dropped. Construction waste such as drywall, sinks, countertops, tile, form board and mirrors is not collected and is not accepted at Log House Road at all, so it goes to the Central Facilities Landfill in Tavares for a charge. Yard waste goes out with the regular collection, cut to four feet and six inches in diameter or less, bagged at 50 pounds or less each, and a contractor's debris stays with the contractor. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

How much does TV removal cost in Clermont?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Clermont?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.
