City cost & eligibility
No charge. The appliances HPS collects are named on the bulky route as part of the city solid waste service billed through the tax bill, within the ten cubic yard limit per pickup.

Place the appliance out one day before your zone's scheduled bulky pickup, and check the 2026 calendar for the date.
Get it ready
Remove the doors from refrigerators and freezers, empty the appliance and keep it upright, and keep it five feet clear of obstacles inside the ten cubic yard pile.
Cans and piles go out the evening before and come back in the same day
Garbage cans, recycling cans and bulky waste piles go at the curb no earlier than 6 p.m. the evening before collection and no later than 4 a.m. the day of collection, and all cans must be removed from the curb by 8 p.m. that day. Cans and piles stay at least five feet apart from one another and clear of obstacles such as mailboxes, trees and cars, with containers facing the house.
The bulky pile is ten cubic yards with a specific refuse list
Large bulky items and yard waste go to the edge of the street on your property one day before the scheduled pickup and must not exceed ten cubic yards, five feet clear of obstacles. Appliances collected include stoves, refrigerators, freezers, washing machines, dryers and water heaters with refrigerator and freezer doors removed, and yard waste is limited to limbs under four inches in diameter and stumps under fifteen inches and fifty pounds.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.

Will you disconnect my appliance or carry it out?+
Dropcurb picks up appliances that are already disconnected and accessible outside at ground level. Arrange uninstallation, utility disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Can I book if the delivery company did not take my old appliance?+
Yes. Dropcurb pickup is separate from buying or installing a replacement, so you can book removal on its own. Select the old appliance, choose a pickup day and arrange for it to be disconnected and accessible outside. If your new delivery is still ahead, confirm the retailer’s haul-away arrangements before booking a separate pickup.
