When & how
Put the appliance out by 7:00 a.m. on a collection day and call Waste Pro at 386-492-8855 to confirm the pickup, or self haul to the Tomoka Landfill, open 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday to Saturday.
Get it ready
Empty and defrost the unit, secure the doors, and keep it out of the garbage cart. A self hauled load is weighed and charged by material type at the landfill scale.
Curbside by 7 a.m., and never before 7 p.m. the night before
Containers and bulk items go to the street before 7 a.m. on the collection day but no earlier than 7 pm the day before, and they come back in by 7 am the next morning. Pick up runs between 7 am and 7 pm, and collection happens on every holiday except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day.
Paint, batteries, medical sharps and medications, pressurized containers, garden and pest control products, cooking oil and other liquid or sludge waste are not accepted in the garbage. They go to the Volusia County household hazardous waste facility at the Tomoka Landfill in Port Orange or the West Volusia Transfer Station in DeLand, where the paint exchange and the sharps drop off also operate.

Hazardous waste, paint, batteries, medications, sharps, pressurized containers and garden or pool chemicals are refused, contractor debris is excluded, and anything unusual such as bedding should be confirmed with the hauler first.

Any load delivered to the Tomoka Landfill or the West Volusia Transfer Station scale, paid in cash, by credit or debit card or on a monthly account.
