$26.7 for the published monthly charge for a regular home on the residential rate table, which covers the every other week bulky collection that takes an appliance. City of Tallahassee residential waste management customers inside the city limits. An appliance larger than the size limit, or one that cannot sit at the curb, goes to a Cash for Trash event or a special pickup with a billed rate instead.
When & how
With the bulky round on the Red or Blue week for the address, at the curb behind the containers and out no sooner than the weekend before the pickup date.
Get it ready
Empty the unit completely and keep it inside the size limit of six feet long by four feet wide by four feet high. Ask when you call whether the doors have to come off and how a unit that still holds refrigerant should be prepared, because the City publishes no degassing or tagging step for an appliance on the bulky route.
Bulky items and yard waste are collected every other week, and each address sits on either a Red week or a Blue week with its own pickup day inside that week, such as a Red Monday. The City publishes the red and blue week calendar online, prints a customer service guide that arrives by the start of each year, and offers an address lookup for the specific day.
A bulky item can be no larger than six feet long by four feet wide by four feet high and has to be something that will not fit in the garbage barrel. The City names appliances, small furniture, mattresses, lamps, bikes, chairs, tables, disassembled swing sets, plastic pools and barbecue grills. Anything bigger, or a pile that cannot sit at the curb, goes to a Cash for Trash event or to a special pickup billed by the quarter hour with disposal costs added.

Cost & conditions
From $106.94 for the published special residential pickup rate, charged per quarter hour with a minimum of the same amount and with disposal costs added. City of Tallahassee residential waste management customers requesting a pickup of bulky items, yard waste or construction and demolition debris. The rate is timed, travel time is not included, and the per ton disposal fees on the same sheet are $63.05 for garbage, $50.18 for clean yard waste, $63.05 for mixed bulk waste and $160 for tires.
Arrange it
Submit the special pickup request, allow three to five business days from the request date, and have the material staged where the crew can reach it when the visit is scheduled.
The charge is timed, so a large or slow load costs more than the minimum, and the disposal fee category depends on what the load contains. Commercial customers always need a special pickup rather than the residential bulky round.
