The village's recycler list shows Protech Environmental at 1550 Howard St in Elk Grove taking computers, televisions and monitors of any size for 20.00, cell phones in store or free by mail and microwaves for a 20.00 fee; AVA Recycling taking LCD televisions in store with charges and paid pickup; Best Buy at 900 E. Golf Road charging for televisions and appliances and refusing microwaves; the Elk Grove Township Recycling Center taking microwaves for a fee; and EZ Electronics Recycling with Blue Star Recyclers. Residents are told to call each site for drop off instructions and charges.

Take the devices to one of the listed recyclers during its hours, and keep them out of the trash and recycling carts because the driver will tag them at the curb.
Get it ready
Wipe personal data before handover, remember that televisions, printers, keyboards and mice are on the banned electronics list, and use the village drop boxes for household batteries, cell phones and CFL bulbs rather than the recycler if that is all the load contains.

How does yard waste collection work?+
Yard waste runs from April 1 through the second full week in December on the same day as the rest of the collection, using the resident's own can of 35 gallons or less marked YW or brown kraft bags at no charge, with a 50 pound limit and bundles no longer than four feet and two feet in diameter.
