Treadmill, walking pad or commercial model?
Household treadmill includes folding home models with a tall console. Choose Walking pad for a compact under-desk model, or Commercial treadmill for a large gym machine. All equipment opens those choices.
An exercise bike, elliptical or rower
Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.
Weights, racks and benches
Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

Get it ready
Fold or remove anything that comes loose so the machine travels as one piece, and keep the load inside the one-item weekly allowance. A full home gym counts as a cleanout and is scheduled with Public Works.
Carts and bulky items go to the curb by 7 a.m. on your collection day. Carts should not go out before 6 p.m. the night before, bulky items should not go out more than 24 hours ahead, and a late cart is not collected on a second trip.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.

Arrange it
Place the item beside the carts on your regular collection day, out by 7 a.m. and no more than 24 hours ahead. No appointment is published for a single item.
One large item or two small items a week, no set-out during a holiday week, mattresses wrapped in plastic, and carpeting cut to six-foot lengths in rolls no wider than 18 inches.
Material that cannot leave in the carts moves through SWANCC. Electronics go to the drop-off site at 3 Providence Way in Des Plaines on most Saturdays, construction and other landfill waste goes to the SWANCC transfer station for a fee, and household hazardous material such as oil-based paint, chemicals and batteries can be collected from the home through the village's Clean Harbors program. Which option covers a Peloton, spin bike or recumbent bike?+
Choose Exercise bike for one stationary bike, including spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes. Peloton and other brands use the same stationary-bike choice. A treadmill, walking pad and outdoor bicycle are different items, so select their matching options.
How do I book free weights, a weight rack or a bench?+
