The city publishes no per-item price for a bulky collection. Carpet over 8 rolls per household per year is charged $2.00 a roll and tires over 5 per household per year are charged $1.75 off rim or $3.00 on rim, an excessive pile is charged after a supervisor evaluates the site, and the 2026 rate sheet lists a residential special pick-up, late set-out and off-cycle charge of $52.90. Cost & conditions
From $105.13 for the container rental for a 12 cubic yard roll-off, before the collection charge by container size, the landfill's per-ton charge, and any blocked or overloaded container charge. Locations inside Lawrence city limits. Residential and commercial charges are prepaid before the rental is scheduled, and contractor empty-and-return service, permanent placement, schools and universities are arranged with the Solid Waste Division directly.
