A mattress is a bulky item, so it cannot go in the city cart and is requested through the same Residential Special Item Pick-Up form the city uses for couches and appliances. The form names bulky items that do not fit in the cart, carpet and tires, so confirm the mattress with the Solid Waste Division before you set it out.

No mattress price is published. The 2026 rate sheet lists a residential special pick-up, late set-out and off-cycle charge of $52.90, and the request form says an excessive pile is charged after a supervisor evaluates the site. Confirm the item and the amount that applies at 785-832-3032.
