Choose by the type of equipment. A brand name does not mean a different item, but a walking pad and a full treadmill do.
Treadmill, walking pad or commercial model?
Household treadmill includes folding home models with a tall console. Choose Walking pad for a compact under-desk model, or Commercial treadmill for a large gym machine. All equipment opens those choices.
An exercise bike, elliptical or rower
Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.
Weights, racks and benches
Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

Exercise equipment is named nowhere on the city's accepted list, although lawn mowers and light fixtures are, so a treadmill or weight machine has to be confirmed with the hauler and may still fit the Dumpster Days load.
City cost & eligibility
No published entry or separate fee covers an exercise machine, and the haulers set their own prices and policies, so confirm the item with the hauler for the annual bulky pickup or ask at the Dumpster Days gate before loading it.

The next Dumpster Days runs October 3 and 4, 2026, and the hauler bulky pickup follows its own schedule.

Describe the machine and its weight when calling, break it down so two people can handle it, and confirm acceptance before adding it to a vehicle load that is charged by the vehicle type.
The free curbside bulky pickup comes from the hauler, not the city
Lenexa does not collect waste itself, so each household chooses a licensed private hauler. City regulation requires every permitted company to offer one bulky item curbside pickup for large items each year inside the basic collection rate, and while some haulers schedule the date by phone others set collection days for certain areas, with a few charging extra for particular items. Residents who cannot get a pickup scheduled and are not covered by a homeowners association contract can contact the city at awhitaker@lenexa.com.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.
A household with a couch, a mattress, an appliance, exercise equipment or another large item that does not fit the cart.
Cost & conditions
No charge. One bulky item curbside pickup a year is included in the basic collection rate of every licensed Lenexa hauler under city regulation, although individual haulers may charge extra for certain items.

Call the licensed hauler serving the address, schedule the pickup or learn the set date for the area, and contact the city at awhitaker@lenexa.com if scheduling fails and the household is not part of a homeowners association contract.

Book by 2pm in the pickup address’s local time for same-day pickup. Available dates appear at checkout. Have the equipment outside and accessible according to your confirmation. You receive pickup updates and completion photos; we book a day rather than an exact appointment time.
Will you dismantle my treadmill or carry it out of the basement?+
Dropcurb pickup starts outside. Arrange indoor carrying, stairs and any dismantling needed to get your equipment out before pickup. Check the moving instructions for your exact model and arrange suitable help. We load and haul away the equipment from an accessible outdoor spot.
Which option covers a Peloton, spin bike or recumbent bike?+
Choose Exercise bike for one stationary bike, including spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes. Peloton and other brands use the same stationary-bike choice. A treadmill, walking pad and outdoor bicycle are different items, so select their matching options.
How do I book free weights, a weight rack or a bench?+
Enter the combined weight in pounds for your dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Booking rounds that total up to the next 10 lb unit: 25 lb uses three units. Stands, racks and benches are separate items and do not include the loose weights. Add each one that is going.
Will Lenexa take a treadmill?+
Exercise equipment is not named on the Dumpster Days accepted list, although lawn mowers, light fixtures, lamps and ballasts are, so confirm the machine with your licensed hauler for the annual bulky item pickup or ask at the gate before loading it.
