Treadmill, walking pad or commercial model?
Household treadmill includes folding home models with a tall console. Choose Walking pad for a compact under-desk model, or Commercial treadmill for a large gym machine. All equipment opens those choices.
An exercise bike, elliptical or rower
Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.
Weights, racks and benches
Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

City cost & eligibility
No exercise machine rate is published, because the city has no named rule for the category. Dumpster Days takes bulky household items at no charge from Wyandotte County residents, and a machine too large or too heavy for the event needs a private arrangement, so confirm before the machine goes anywhere.
When & how
Plan the machine around a Dumpster Days weekend in spring or fall, or book a private hauler. There is no municipal appointment pickup for exercise equipment.
Get it ready
Break the machine down as far as it will go, take the console off the frame and remove or tape any battery pack. Keep it out of the recycling cart, which takes paper, cardboard, cans and plastics, and out of the yard waste stream.
Kansas City, Kansas collects trash and recycling on the same day each week, and carts can go to the curb no earlier than 4 p.m. the day before and no later than 7 a.m. on the collection day. Each container needs a tight-fitting lid, usable handles for lifting and a weight at or under 50 pounds, and metal barrels are not acceptable.
