Mattresses are a separate priced category rather than an ordinary soft good, because Massachusetts bans them from disposal.
City cost & eligibility
$20 per mattress at both the drop-off center and the curb on the city fee table. Framingham household scheduling a curbside pickup, or a resident with a current drop-off permit; the curbside service fee is added on top.

Mattresses go out on the Wednesday curbside collection day, or to the drop-off center during its published hours.
Get it ready
Keep the mattress dry and bagged if the weather is wet, and keep box springs with the mattress set so each piece is counted and tagged. Do not put a mattress in a trash cart because the state ban excludes it from disposal.
Framingham collects bulky items only by appointment and only after payment. Schedule through the city permitting portal or at the Operations Center or drop-off center, pay by cash, check or online, and put the tagged item at the curb by 7 a.m. on the assigned day because staff cannot enter private property.
Soft goods such as couches go out on Tuesday, and metal items, mattresses, televisions, Freon appliances, carpets and tires go out on Wednesday. Setting a category out on the wrong day means the crew will not take it.
