City cost & eligibility
$75 for the published per piece charge for a mattress or box spring dropped off at the department of public works yard, priced separately from the curbside bulky tiers. Revere residents delivering the piece to the department of public works yard. Mattresses and box springs are not eligible for curbside pickup under the state mattress disposal rule, so there is no permit route for them.
When & how
Take the piece to the department of public works yard on the last Saturday of each month between 7 a.m. and 12 p.m.; it cannot be permitted for curbside collection.
Get it ready
Keep the mattress dry and wrapped so the crew can lift it, and set it out only after the permit is confirmed. Confirm through the permit application that a box spring is a separate item, since each permitted item carries its own charge.
Nothing bulky is collected without an online permit, and the deadline matters: mid afternoon Monday through Thursday for a next day pickup, and by mid afternoon on the preceding Thursday for a Friday or a Monday. The City warns that a late application may push the item to the following week, so the permit is filed before the item reaches the curb.
Revere prices bulky items by tier rather than by weight. A couch, love seat, dresser, bed frame, chair, table, grill or entertainment center sits at the upper rate, a lamp, a rug up to four feet long, a coffee table or a television stand sits lower, appliances and electronics such as a refrigerator, washer, oven or television have their own rate, a mattress is priced on its own line above all of them, and small household appliances are the cheapest priced item.

Online bulky item permit
A Revere household with furniture, a rolled rug or another item that will not fit the cart. A mattress or box spring is not part of this route: the City takes those only at the department of public works yard drop-off.
Cost & conditions
$25 for the published per item charge for an upper tier bulky item, with a lower tier published for smaller items, a lower senior rate on each tier and a mattress priced on its own line. Revere residents submitting the permit through the City permitting portal and paying online, for the items the fee table makes curbside eligible: the couch tier, the smaller furniture tier, and the appliance and electronics rate. Mattresses, tires, toilets and sinks, small household appliances, paint cans and overflow trash sit in the Miscellaneous block the table marks Ineligible for Curbside Pickup, so those go to the department of public works yard or a private route.
Arrange it
Register in the permitting portal, apply under the bulky item pickup type and the correct subtype, pay online, and put the item out only after the confirmation arrives.
Each item is charged separately, construction debris, antifreeze, gas cans and aerosol paint cannot be permitted at all, and a late application may wait until the following week.

Can you pick up my old mattress when my new one arrives?+
You can choose an offered pickup day around your replacement delivery. First check whether the retailer already includes old-mattress removal, and arrange who will bring it outside if needed. What if trash will not fit in the cart?+
Only one city cart may sit at the curb, except during the six designated overflow weeks the City publishes. Overflow trash is priced as a miscellaneous item in the fee table's Ineligible for Curbside Pickup block, so the paid route is a drop-off at the department of public works yard rather than extra bags left beside the cart.
