Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Televisions, computers and electronics

Accepted with preparation

Televisions and computers sit in the same published tier as appliances, with mercury devices and batteries accepted free at the public works yard.

City cost & eligibility
$30 for the published per item charge for a television, computer or appliance on the City bulky item pickup list, with a lower senior rate published alongside it. Revere residents submitting a bulky item pickup permit and paying online. Batteries, fluorescent light bulbs, mercury thermometers and thermostats, nickel cadmium batteries and waste oil are accepted at the department of public works yard at no charge instead.
When & how
Through the permit system with the same next day deadlines as other bulky items, or by taking the smaller mercury and battery items to the public works yard on Charger Street.
Get it ready
Apply under the appliances subtype for a television or a computer, keep the device out of the recycling cart and out of the blue trash cart, and erase personal data before it leaves the house. Batteries, fluorescent bulbs and mercury devices go to the public works yard at no charge rather than into the permit program.

The handoff matters

Right item.
Right place.

Permit it before it goes out

Nothing bulky is collected without an online permit, and the deadline matters: mid afternoon Monday through Thursday for a next day pickup, and by mid afternoon on the preceding Thursday for a Friday or a Monday. The City warns that a late application may push the item to the following week, so the permit is filed before the item reaches the curb.

Know which price tier the item is in

Revere prices bulky items by tier rather than by weight. A couch, love seat, dresser, bed frame, chair, table, grill or entertainment center sits at the upper rate, a lamp, a rug up to four feet long, a coffee table or a television stand sits lower, appliances and electronics such as a refrigerator, washer, oven or television have their own rate, a mattress is priced on its own line above all of them, and small household appliances are the cheapest priced item.

Batteries, bulbs and paint go to the public works yard

The items that never belong in a cart go to the department of public works yard on Charger Street. Batteries, fluorescent light bulbs, mercury thermometers and thermostats, nickel cadmium batteries and waste oil are accepted at no charge, and a paint can with the original label carries a small published per can charge, while aerosol cans, antifreeze, gas cans and dirt are refused everywhere in the program.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Revere collects trash weekly from a city issued blue cart and recycling every other week on a Green or Red schedule, with yard waste and street sweeping on their own calendars and a textile program that includes free curbside collections and donation bins at City Hall, Revere High School, the West Revere School Complex, Revere Boxing and the public works yard. Anything that will not fit the cart is a permitted bulky item rather than a curbside extra: the City publishes a price for each tier, from a couch or a table at the upper rate down to a lamp or a television stand at the lower one, with appliances, electronics and mattresses priced separately and the permit filed online by mid afternoon for a next day pickup. What cannot be permitted goes elsewhere: construction debris, antifreeze, gas cans, dirt and aerosol paint are refused outright, while batteries, fluorescent bulbs, mercury thermometers and thermostats, nickel cadmium batteries and waste oil go to the public works yard at no charge and paint cans go there for a small per can fee with the original label intact. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Revere.

How much does TV removal cost in Revere?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Revere?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Where does a television go?

Through the online bulky item permit at the published per item rate for electronics and appliances, with a lower senior rate available. Batteries, fluorescent light bulbs, mercury thermometers and thermostats and waste oil are separate no charge items taken to the public works yard on Charger Street.Official guidance

Who collects the waste in Revere?

The City's sanitation contractor collects curbside trash, recycling and permitted bulky items, while the City sets the rules and the prices. Revere 311 takes a missed trash, recycling or paid bulky pickup no later than noon on the day after the missed collection, and the City works with the contractor to recover the items.Official guidance

What do I do about a missed pickup?

Contact Revere 311 no later than noon on the day after the missed collection, whether it was trash, recycling or a paid bulky item, and the City will work with its sanitation contractor to have the items collected.Official guidance

Can clothing and textiles be recycled here?

Yes. Revere runs a textile recycling program with a partner organization that offers free curbside textile collections, which residents schedule online, along with donation bins at City Hall on Broadway, Revere High School, the West Revere School Complex, Revere Boxing and the public works yard.Official guidance

What if trash will not fit in the cart?

Only one city cart may sit at the curb, except during the six designated overflow weeks the City publishes. Overflow trash is priced as a miscellaneous item in the fee table's Ineligible for Curbside Pickup block, so the paid route is a drop-off at the department of public works yard rather than extra bags left beside the cart. Anything larger than a bag moves into the bulky tiers, where each item is charged separately.Official guidance

Are there discounted rates?

Yes. The City publishes a lower senior rate alongside each bulky tier and for the miscellaneous items such as overflow trash, paint cans, tires and small household appliances, so an eligible senior household pays less per permitted item.Official guidance
