Get it ready
Apply under the appliances subtype for a television or a computer, keep the device out of the recycling cart and out of the blue trash cart, and erase personal data before it leaves the house. Batteries, fluorescent bulbs and mercury devices go to the public works yard at no charge rather than into the permit program.
Nothing bulky is collected without an online permit, and the deadline matters: mid afternoon Monday through Thursday for a next day pickup, and by mid afternoon on the preceding Thursday for a Friday or a Monday. The City warns that a late application may push the item to the following week, so the permit is filed before the item reaches the curb.
Revere prices bulky items by tier rather than by weight. A couch, love seat, dresser, bed frame, chair, table, grill or entertainment center sits at the upper rate, a lamp, a rug up to four feet long, a coffee table or a television stand sits lower, appliances and electronics such as a refrigerator, washer, oven or television have their own rate, a mattress is priced on its own line above all of them, and small household appliances are the cheapest priced item.
Batteries, bulbs and paint go to the public works yard
The items that never belong in a cart go to the department of public works yard on Charger Street. Batteries, fluorescent light bulbs, mercury thermometers and thermostats, nickel cadmium batteries and waste oil are accepted at no charge, and a paint can with the original label carries a small published per can charge, while aerosol cans, antifreeze, gas cans and dirt are refused everywhere in the program.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.

Antifreeze, gas or gas cans, dirt and aerosol cans including paint are not eligible anywhere in the City program. The yard is open on the last Saturday of each month from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Do you erase data from old computers?+
Data erasure and certified data destruction are not included in Dropcurb removal. Back up the information you need, then follow the manufacturer’s sign-out and reset instructions before pickup. If a device cannot be erased or contains sensitive business information, arrange suitable data handling before giving it away. What if trash will not fit in the cart?+
Only one city cart may sit at the curb, except during the six designated overflow weeks the City publishes. Overflow trash is priced as a miscellaneous item in the fee table's Ineligible for Curbside Pickup block, so the paid route is a drop-off at the department of public works yard rather than extra bags left beside the cart.
