Book the unwanted bags and boxes left after packing. Choose an available pickup day before you hand back the keys, and arrange to have them outside.
You do not need a whole house of junk. Select the bags, boxes and larger items you actually have. Your combined price is shown online.

A few simple choices turn a mixed pile into a clear booking. No need to estimate how much of a truck it might fill.
Count each trash bag or filled household box. Books and media go by the box. Clothes, bedding and shoes go by the filled bag. Toys packed together have a Box of toys choice. Ask us about unusually heavy or oversized bags and boxes first.
Empty cardboard is a different choice: choose single empty boxes or tied bundles of 10 flattened boxes. Compacted bales have their own weight-based choices and require loading-dock access. A Storage bin choice covers the empty bin itself; ask us to confirm the contents if they are going too.
Add the actual larger item alongside your bags and boxes, such as a sofa, chair or mattress. It has its own price and preparation. Keep construction materials and items needing special handling out of ordinary household bags.

Bulky items are requested through an online City permit with published per item prices, and the permit has to be filed by mid afternoon for a next day pickup.
A mattress or box spring is no longer eligible for curbside pickup: the City accepts it only as a drop-off at the department of public works yard on the last Saturday of each month from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m., for the published per piece charge.
Appliances sit in their own published tier with electronics, and that tier is curbside eligible with a permit, while small household appliances sit in the fee table's Miscellaneous block marked Ineligible for Curbside Pickup.
Televisions and computers sit in the same published tier as appliances, with mercury devices and batteries accepted free at the public works yard.
Construction items and debris cannot be permitted at all, though a toilet or sink and a short wood bundle are priced as miscellaneous items.
Exercise equipment is named in no price tier, so the machine has to be confirmed through the permit system before it goes out.
The handoff matters
Nothing bulky is collected without an online permit, and the deadline matters: mid afternoon Monday through Thursday for a next day pickup, and by mid afternoon on the preceding Thursday for a Friday or a Monday. The City warns that a late application may push the item to the following week, so the permit is filed before the item reaches the curb.
