City cost & eligibility
From $21.5 for for the first item in a scheduled bulky item collection beyond the one bulky item each household receives free each year, with each additional item in the same collection charged 5 dollars. City of Columbia residential curbside customers, with multi-family homes not eligible for large item collections and the charge added to the monthly utility bill.
When & how
Arrange the pickup in the CoMo Recycle and Trash app under Large Item Collection or call 573.874.2489, then put the item at the curb by 7:30 a.m. on the scheduled day and call back to cancel if it is no longer needed.
Get it ready
Keep the mattress out of the roll cart, set it at the curb rather than in the street, and give it 8 feet of clearance from other objects and 3 feet from the roll cart when the pickup falls on the same day as refuse collection.
Everything goes in the roll cart, out by 6:30 a.m. and back by 10 p.m.
All refuse goes in the city-provided roll cart with the lid closed, an overflowing cart is not emptied, bags left on the curb are not picked up, and only regular household trash and yard waste belong in the cart. Carts go to the curb no earlier than 4 p.m. the day before the collection day and no later than 6:30 a.m. on the collection day, and they come back in no later than 10 p.m. that day. The carts are city property assigned to the address and carry barcodes.

Multi-family homes are not eligible, building material, felled trees, large automobile parts, hazardous materials and items two people cannot handle are prohibited, and the pile has to be at the curb rather than in the street.

From $12.87 per month for the 35 gallon roll cart, with the 65 gallon cart at 17.37 per month and the 95 gallon cart at 22.50 per month. City of Columbia residential curbside customers, with one free cart exchange within the first 120 days and a 25 dollar fee per cart after that.

Will you carry my mattress downstairs or out of my apartment?+
Dropcurb starts outside. You arrange to move the mattress out of your apartment and down interior stairs before pickup. We load it and take it away from an accessible outdoor spot. Check your building’s access rules before arranging the move outside.
Can you pick up my old mattress when my new one arrives?+
You can choose an offered pickup day around your replacement delivery. First check whether the retailer already includes old-mattress removal, and arrange who will bring it outside if needed. Dropcurb books a pickup day, not the retailer’s delivery window. Contact us before booking if access is limited to a short time.
