Everything for the public disposal area, the yard waste area and the household hazardous waste lane is at 2011 SE Hamblen Road. The gate runs Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., it is closed Sunday and on the operator's published holidays, and the hazardous waste lane keeps its own schedule.
Household hazardous waste is free for Lee's Summit residents Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with no appointment, and by appointment on the first Saturday of the month from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. A valid ID showing your current city of residence is required, and businesses, churches and not-for-profit organizations are turned away at the gate.
