City cost & eligibility
A television or monitor can ride a free bulk waste drop-off day load for a current City trash customer, while the City electronics and appliance recycling events and the county Recycle Works sites charge published per unit fees that vary by screen type and size. Confirm the route and the current fee before loading.
When & how
Drop-off days run 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on six Saturdays in 2026, and the electronics and appliance recycling events run 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on the alternate Saturdays, both listed on the City pages.
Get it ready
Keep televisions and computers dry, because the county sites refuse wet or dirty electronics, and bring bulbs intact since broken bulbs and lamps are not accepted at the City events.
The City trucks are automated, so carts go out by 6:30 a.m. on the collection day with the handle facing the home, and they stay four feet away from parked cars, mailboxes, trees and other obstacles. Only the cart is emptied, so boxes belong inside it with the lid closed and anything else needs a scheduled bulky pickup.
The City holds free bulk waste drop-off days at the waste transfer station from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on six Saturdays in 2026. A household has to be a current City trash customer with the account in good standing, show photo ID with an O'Fallon address, unload its own items, and bring only one car, pickup or small trailer load of ten feet or less per address.
Collection runs as normal on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day and Christmas Eve in 2026. Service moves to the next day for New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day, the day after Thanksgiving and Christmas Day, and the rest of that week moves forward through Saturday.
Reactive, corrosive, ignitable or toxic material is not collected, and neither are liquids, gasoline or motor oil. Latex paint has to be mixed with an absorbent such as kitty litter and completely dried before it goes out, and sharps belong in a rigid container such as an empty detergent bottle rather than a coffee can, milk jug or glass. Hazardous liquids go to a county household hazardous waste collection instead.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.

Cost & conditions
No charge. Current City trash customers in good standing only, with photo ID showing an O'Fallon address, self unloading, and one car, pickup or small trailer load of ten feet or less per address for each of the six 2026 drop-off days.
Arrange it
Bring the load to the City waste transfer station between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. on a published drop-off Saturday and empty all gas and oil from the items first.
Appliances, tires, auto parts and batteries, yard waste, railroad ties and liquid household hazardous waste are refused, and commercial vehicles, rental vehicles, box trucks and trailers over ten feet are turned away.

Anyone with a television, monitor, computer, small appliance, power tool or similar item that carries a cord or a battery, whether or not they live in O'Fallon.
Cost & conditions
$20 for for each LED, LCD or plasma television dropped at an electronics and appliance recycling event, with other television types and screen sizes charged higher published per unit fees. Most items are free and the events are open to everyone, but the City publishes a per item fee list for televisions, monitors, freon containing units, printers and copiers, tanning beds, vape pens and bulbs, and the fees are subject to change.
Arrange it
Drive to the parking lot adjacent to CarShield Field at the southwest corner of T.R. Hughes Blvd. and Tom Ginnever Ave. between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. on a published event Saturday, and pay by cash, check or credit card.
Broken bulbs and lamps are refused, and smoke detectors, magnetic and optical media, ink and toner cartridges, coax and fiber cable and alkaline, lithium primary, dry NiCd and button cell batteries are not accepted.
