Carpet, concrete, construction debris, dirt, electronics, flammable items, mulch, rocks, tires and pallets do not belong in it, and a dumpster load may contain yard waste or household waste but never both.
Everything goes at least three feet from the roll-out container and three feet from mailboxes, cars and other obstructions so the automated arm can reach the can. The lid has to close completely, nothing may be pushed down or packed above the rim, and bulky items or excess bags wait on the ground three feet away from the cart rather than beside it.
All garbage goes in tied plastic bags inside the town roll-out container, and everything stays bagged so it cannot blow around the neighborhood. Cardboard is flattened for recycling, because the town collects an unflattened box as garbage, and oversized boxes are flattened and stacked beside the recycling cart instead of left loose at the curb.

The service is not available from November 1 to January 1.
