Match your item

Construction cleanup starts with the right items.

We currently accept the doors, toilets and bathroom vanities listed here, already detached and ready outside. Choose each item separately. Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted, including in bags.

Doors

Count each detached door panel separately. Have it removed from its hinges before pickup. A whole installed doorway or garage door is not the same item.

Toilets

Choose Toilet for an ordinary household toilet that has already been disconnected, drained and moved outside. Text a photo before booking if yours is broken or has loose sharp pieces.

Bathroom vanities

Choose the small, standard or large bathroom vanity that matches your sink cabinet. A makeup table has a separate choice. Plumbing disconnection and removal from the wall happen before pickup.

Construction and demolition debris

Not on the regular city route

Construction and remodeling material is refused everywhere on the collection side: it is not allowed in the weekly can, it is on the excluded list, and construction items, deck material and household renovation items are unacceptable in the bulk collection. The route is the landfill inert waste site.

City cost & eligibility
From $50 per ton of inert waste at the landfill Site 4, which takes construction and demolition material, alongside the 67.00 per ton general tipping fee, the 6.00 minimum dumping fee and the 25.00 unsecured load fee. Anyone hauling the load to the city landfill, with all loads tarped or tied down.
When & how
Take the load to the landfill at 2111 N 52nd Street, open Monday through Saturday from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm and closed on Sundays and designated holidays, and keep it off the bulk collection because construction items are unacceptable there.
Get it ready
Separate the inert material the landfill lists, which includes asphalt gravel roof, ceiling tile, glass, masonry, plaster, roofing paper, sheetrock, shingles and tar, siding, wood and wooden furniture, tarp or tie every load, and note that contractor waste is the contractor's or occupant's responsibility.

The weekly route excludes every large item

The city publishes the list of items that will not be collected on the regular garbage route: appliances and electronics, box springs and mattresses, building material, carpet, concrete, construction and remodeling debris, decks and fences, dirt, furniture items, hazardous waste, oil, propane tanks, rocks, sand, sod and trees. Those items move to the prepaid bulk residential item collection or, for construction material and hazardous waste, to the city landfill.

The landfill takes the loads the collection routes refuse

The Bismarck landfill at 2111 N 52nd Street is open Monday through Saturday from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm and closed on Sundays and designated holidays, and it is the published route for construction and demolition material at its inert waste site and for household hazardous waste and electronics under a separate fee schedule. The 2026 rates are published per ton for general waste, at a lower per ton rate for inert waste and for trees and wood waste, with a minimum dumping charge and a fee for an unsecured load. All loads must be tarped or tied down, and wood chips cannot be removed from Burleigh County because of the emerald ash borer detection.

Haul the load to the city landfill

A household with construction and demolition material, trees and wood waste, household hazardous waste, electronics or a load too large for the bulk collection.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Bismarck keeps self haul on the city side: the landfill at 2111 N 52nd Street is open Monday through Saturday from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm and takes both the material the collection routes refuse and the loads too large for them. Construction and demolition material goes to the inert waste site at a lower per ton rate than general waste, trees and wood waste have their own per ton rate, a minimum dumping charge applies and an unsecured load carries its own fee, with payment by cash, check, credit or debit card. Household hazardous waste and electronics are also handled at the landfill under a separate published fee schedule, and propane tanks, oil and hazardous waste are all excluded from the weekly can. Weekly garbage itself takes only what is inside the city-issued container, with anything beside the can left behind since January 1, 2025, so a couch, mattress, appliance, television or treadmill has to be prepaid through the bulk residential item collection instead, and grass, leaves and short branches have to be bagged into the container. Wood chips cannot leave Burleigh County because of the emerald ash borer restriction. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Construction debris removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Bismarck.

How much does construction debris removal cost in Bismarck?

Pricing is per accepted item. A detached door is $99 as a single item, an ordinary toilet is $79, and a small bathroom vanity is $99. Larger vanities have their own choices. Select the listed items to see the exact combined price. These prices do not cover mixed rubble or loose building materials. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; applicable sales tax appears before payment.

Can I get same-day toilet or vanity pickup in Bismarck?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup, where available. Checkout shows the dates you can choose. Arrange disconnection, removal and the move outside first, then have the fixture ready by the time in your confirmation. We text you before arrival and provide pickup photos when it is done.

Will you disconnect a sink or take a door off its hinges?

The fixture must already be detached, disconnected and accessible outside at ground level. Arrange plumbing, electrical work, removal from walls or hinges, and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb handles loading and haul-away from your outdoor pickup spot.

Can I add bags of drywall, tile or other demolition waste?

Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted. This page offers pickup for the listed doors, toilets and bathroom vanities that are already removed. Do not book loose building materials as household trash bags or as an extra item. Arrange suitable disposal for those materials with your contractor or a debris specialist.

Can a door, toilet and vanity go in the same pickup?

Yes. Add each listed fixture separately and choose the correct vanity size. Each detached door panel counts as one item. The combined price appears before you book. Keep the fixtures together outside, separate from anything staying, and add a location photo on your order page.

Where does construction debris go in Bismarck?

To the city landfill, not the collection routes. Construction debris is not allowed in the weekly container and will not be picked up by city crews, and construction items, deck material and household renovation items are unacceptable in the bulk collection. The landfill at 2111 N 52nd Street takes inert construction and demolition material at its own Site 4 rate, which is lower than the general tipping rate and carries a minimum dumping charge, with every load tarped or tied down.Official guidance

What will Bismarck not take in the garbage can?

Appliances and electronics, box springs and mattresses, building material, carpet, concrete, construction and remodeling debris, decks and fences, dirt, furniture items, hazardous waste, oil, propane tanks, rocks, sand, sod and trees are all excluded from the regular garbage route, and anything placed beside the can is left behind entirely. Construction material and hazardous waste go to the landfill instead, where construction and demolition debris is priced as inert waste and household hazardous waste and electronics are covered by a separate fee schedule.Official guidance
