City collection Couches, tables, chairs, dressers and rugs qualify. A residential property may set out ten bulk items; excess items need private removal the same day. Confirm your residential address and any collection charge with Newark DPW; excess bulk requires a private hauler at the owner’s expense.
City collection Newark collects covered mattresses, with a limit of three per collection. Ask DPW to confirm your property’s mattress arrangement and any charge.
City collection Refrigerators, air conditioners, stoves, washers and dryers use an appliance appointment. Confirm the exact appliance and any charge when booking.
City collection Trash bags must be inside a receptacle with an attached, tight-fitting lid; loose curbside bags are not collected. Confirm ordinary household collection eligibility and charges for the address.

Newark uses a monthly zone schedule for household bulk, ward routes for covered mattresses and appliance appointments, and a separate electronics depot. Confirm property eligibility before a large cleanout.

Can I book a pickup for today?+
Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup, where available. Choose from the dates shown at checkout. Your booking is for a pickup day, and we text you when your hauler is on the way.
Do my items need to be outside when I book?+
You can book while your items are still inside. Arrange any indoor carrying and have everything outside and accessible according to your confirmation. We load and haul it away from there. Contact us before booking if your property has restricted access.
What if I have more than ten bulky items?+
Arrange private removal of the excess on the same day; the city’s ten-item limit is per residential property.Official guidance
Does a mattress need a cover?+
