An exercise bike, elliptical or rower
Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.
Weights, racks and benches
Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

When & how
Call by noon on Tuesday for the Thursday collection, and set the machine at the curb by 7 am, or by 6 am in the summer months. The Thursday metal route runs every week except holiday weeks.
Get it ready
Take the machine down as far as it comes apart so two workers can move it, keep the loose weights and parts with the frame, and drain any fluid reservoir. Keep the machine out of the household garbage and the recycling carts, which refuse scrap metal, wire, pipes and motors.
Garbage and bulk items go to the curb no later than 7 am on the scheduled pickup day. Between Memorial Day and Labor Day the deadline moves to 6 am for every material, which is the same hour an appliance, metal item or television has to be out on its own appointment day.
Appliances, metal, televisions and printers need appointments
Appliances and heavy metal items are collected on Thursdays by appointment, booked before noon on the Tuesday before the pickup, and televisions and computer monitors by appointment on the second Saturday for the north end and the third Saturday for the south, east and west ends. There is no appliance pickup during a holiday week, and only city personnel may go behind a sanitation vehicle.
