Count each detached door panel separately. Have it removed from its hinges before pickup. A whole installed doorway or garage door is not the same item.
Toilets
Choose Toilet for an ordinary household toilet that has already been disconnected, drained and moved outside. Text a photo before booking if yours is broken or has loose sharp pieces.
Bathroom vanities
Choose the small, standard or large bathroom vanity that matches your sink cabinet. A makeup table has a separate choice. Plumbing disconnection and removal from the wall happen before pickup.

Yonkers refuses construction material on every city route. The curbside rules bar construction material from regular trash, and the Recycling Center bans construction and demolition debris outright along with roofing materials. A renovation load therefore needs a private container or hauler rather than a city collection.
City cost & eligibility
The city publishes no construction debris route or rate, because the material is refused curbside and at the Recycling Center. Call the Refuse Department on 914-377-6724 to ask whether any household quantity can be handled and arrange a private container or hauler for the load itself.
When & how
Do not put construction material out on a collection day and do not load it for the Recycling Center, where it will be turned away. Arrange the removal before the project produces debris.
Get it ready
Keep lumber, drywall, shingles, concrete and roofing material out of the refuse barrels and off the bulk pile, separate anything that might be accepted as metal bulk, and keep paint and chemicals on the PaintCare and household chemical route instead.
Regular trash refuses commercial garbage, construction material, compressed gas tanks, motor oil, medical waste, rocks and dirt, and tires, rims and car batteries are refused at the curb as well. The Recycling Center refuses construction and demolition debris, roofing material, toxic paint and tar cans, hazardous waste, oil and grease, gas cylinders other than empty propane barbecue tanks, raw garbage and bagged recyclables. Grass clippings are refused everywhere, including at the Organic Yard, and the city's answer is to leave them on the lawn.
