From $7 per item at the curb under the bulk rate, with a $29 minimum service fee for the visit and an extra charged per 32 gallon unit. when the hauler that serves the address agrees to take the item; the city rate schedule allows the hauler to set each item anywhere in the published per item range and to charge up to ten percent above the schedule.
When & how
Arranged with the hauler as an extra, an on call collection on a schedule of at least six weeks between pick ups, or a bulk item pickup, and the schedule also prices a container exchange and an on call administrative fee.
Get it ready
Fit extras into a thirty two gallon container without breaking the material down, keep the sidewalk clear, and expect a surcharge of up to half the applicable charge when the material has to be carried from upstairs, downstairs, a narrow corridor, an attic or a basement.
A sofa or chair is larger than the subscribed container, so it leaves the house either as a bulky item at the curb under the city bulk rate or as garbage by volume at a Lane County transfer station, where upholstered furniture is charged on the garbage table.

Bulk pick ups are arranged with the licensed hauler rather than on a fixed municipal cycle, and the county transfer stations take furniture whenever the site is open.
Get it ready
Take the cushions off and bag them if the hauler asks, keep the frame dry and free of infestation, and never leave a sofa in an alley or against a container where it blocks the sidewalk while a pickup is being arranged.
A customer may put solid waste, recycling, yard debris and organics containers at the curb no earlier than 7 p.m. on the day before the scheduled collection, and must take the empty containers back in no later than midnight on the collection day. The city also asks that empty garbage and recycling bins stay at the curb no more than twenty four hours, and a container may not leave the unobstructed paved part of a sidewalk less than three feet wide.
