Appliances built to contain coolant, including air conditioners, freezers, refrigerators and dehumidifiers, are charged per appliance with a limit of five a day per person, and a dishwasher with a plastic casing is charged as garbage.

Metro Central takes general public loads daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pay at the staffed scale for a household load, and bring any recyclables in the same trip for the recycling rebate.

Empty the appliance and secure the doors for handling, and keep a coolant unit whole rather than removing the refrigerant yourself. Separate metal appliances from a garbage load so the free appliance line applies instead of the garbage rate.
