The local disposal guide
Fairview does not run its own hauling crews. The city holds a franchise agreement with Twelve Mile Disposal, which collects garbage in 35, 65 or 95 gallon carts with recycling included, and that is where curbside service questions and rates go. Nothing in the city or hauler material offers a curbside bulky item pickup, so a couch, mattress, appliance, television or project load travels to a Metro transfer station instead. Metro Central on NW 61st Avenue takes up to four mattresses or box springs a day free, metal appliances free, coolant appliances for a per unit charge, electronics through its Oregon E-Cycles desk, and everything else as garbage or clean wood by the ton. Household chemicals go to the Metro hazardous waste facility at the same site or at Metro South in Oregon City, free for households with a daily limit.
